Is it normal for your gums to turn white when whitening teeth?

My gums have become sensitive while using the prodoct. This is the second day I used the Wal-Mart brand teeth whitening strips. It says that sensitivity on the gums happens and I should discontinue after 3 days of sensitivity. So, it's ok that my gums are sensitive but at the edge where my gum outlines my tooth its white.

  1. Your gums are turning white because of the whitening product. If you try to not get the gel on your gums, they shouldn’t keep turning white. Try putting vaseline on just your gums before you put the strips on.
