Why isn't my beard (moustache) growing; I'm 21 years old?
Currently 21-years-old, but why isn't my beard growing? Is it genetic or what? Of course, the hair on my head grows and regenerates perfectly well and, uhm, so does pubic hair... LOL... Any are there any drugs, hormone supplements or any product that specifically stimulates the growth of hair, especially hair (but not limited to) on the beard and head?
Further questions you can answer for me, related to this matter, is: Is it a fundamental "error" in the person's genetic makeup. But then what we really want to know is WHAT gene is it? If we somehow target this gene, localize it, and somehow manipulate it in the embryo of an animal (or us human)? And why is our pubic hair so much "thicker" than the hair on our heads?
Silly questions, I know, but it's actually one of the interesting questions posed in the genetics community, such as, for example, why do some people's nails grow longer while others have nails that stay the same length?
NOTE>This question applies to the field of genetics as well as human physiology, therefore I have posted it in more than one area.

Does your dad have sparse facial hair? You probably inherited it genetically.
My dad’s facial hair grows in slowly and sparsely and so does mine. I can’t really grow a mustache, it comes all ratty and weird looking.

Partly depends on whether or to what extent that area was sensitized during the first three months of fetal life to make it responsive to testosterone stimulation in later life and partly depends on the levels of testosterone currently in your bloodstream.
It also depends partly on your ethnic background. Pure Native American-Indian male have no moustache or beard growth and Asian males from outwith the Indian sub-continent have relatively little. On the other hand, amongst Caucasians and people from the Indian sub-continent, it’s extremely common for women to have moustache growth and not unusual for women to have beard growth.
No point in worrying about it. In any case, a great many women actually prefer men without beard growth. Be yourself and enjoy who you are naturally.
