Human Growth Hormone Deficiency?
I'm pretty sure its HGD?
I've tried to ignore it, but I just can't anymore.
I'm 18, 5'4, 108 pounds, male, 11 1/2 shoe size, and look REALLY young. I've looked exactly the same for 4 years now. All the males on both sides of my family are 5'10 and on the heavy side. I have plenty of hair everywhere except my face which I have a little. My testes are in the next to last stage of development. I was average height till about 8th grade and I have not grown any since. I also have not changed in my face. The pictures of me in the 8th grade, look exactly like the ones now, in college. I was 5'4 in the 8th grade, looked like a normal 8th grader. Then I just stopped changing. My mom is 5'4 and my dad is 5'10(at least, probably more). I am not exaggerating about how I look. I look extremely young. .I have a really poor appetite and I am on Prozac.
Reasons why I think its HGD :
I have Huge feet for my size
I haven't changed in 4 years physically
The other effects of puberty has not been effected...(size of testes, pubic hair)
Every male on both sides are at least 5"10 and on the heavy side.
I'm having a lot of trouble gaining weight/poor appetite
I look like a 13 year old max
I have poor muscle mass (the bones on my elbows/wrists and shoulders actually stick out...looks weird)
I was average size till the 8th grade...was in the 50th percentile for boys, then plummeted to the 3rd?
I take Prozac for anxiety (another symptom)
My penis has not grown any since the 8th grade
My family doctor did blood tests on everything but HGD (Endo's have to do the test). I need a referral to see an endo, do you think he will give me one? Anyone had any experience with HGD? Sound like I have it?
-----A lot of people skim so I'm going to say it again. I look REALLY young 13-14, not just short. That is what bothers me.

listen. you’re going through puberty. people get changes at different time. but hey, go see an endo. it couldnt hurt… and it does sound like you have it a little bit… mostly because of the anxieties.
Either that or your thyroid gland is messed up. (which is ok, dont worry. very common.) talk to your doc about thyroid meds…
