Is there any topical treatment for acne scars?

After a long battle with acne, after years its finally subsiding. Thank God... However, there are still those light brown spots left behind from the pimples. I've continued to drink 2-3 cups of green and ginseng tea a day, take flax seed oil, drink lemon concentrate morning and night, use aloe vera, and rub ice on my face regularly. Maybe there has been no change in these spots or very minimal. Is there a quicker way to get rid of these spots besides laser treatment. For example, a topical cream or another home remedy? The spots are all clustered on my cheeks so it looks like I have freckles which sucks so any suggestions would be nice. Thanks!

acne like rash?

5 days ago i got this acne like breakout in my cheeks. my face is red and itchy. it's worst in the mornings, but i hasn't changed, everyday it's the same. i got my period yesterday, but i have never had this bad acne, just a few blackheads, so i called the doctor. she came and said that it might be an allergic reaction, and put me on anti-allergy meds and some corticoid topical cream. i've been using it for two days and nothing. if it is an acne breakout, how long will it take to clear up? and if it is a rash?

acne issues, any help?

I have moderate acne, and about a year ago, my doctor proscribed something called "Erythromycin and Benzoyl Peroxide" for it, which worked quite well. At my last checkup, my doctor added something called "Differin" specifically for the blackhead type of acne, while keeping me on the original topical cream for normal acne. I've noticed that while the differin helps clear up the blackheads, it makes the normal acne worse... I use the differin at night, and the benzoyl peroxide during the day, as prescribed... but still, the normal acne gets worse and worse while my blackheads go away, it seems that the differin is making the normal acne worse. I stopped using the differin 2 days ago, and I'm already seeing the normal acne start to go away as I continue to use my original acne cream, but the blackheads are starting to come back, does anyone know of an effective blackhead medication that doesn't make normal acne worse? And on top of that, one that can be used side by side with my current acne cream?

Thanks

adult acne treatments?

Hypothetically if money was not an issue what sort of acne treatments are out there? I dont mean the topical creams like proactive or other informercial products, im referring to any type of procedures you can have done or anything along those lines that are just a one and done thing. something that would cure you for good. I ask because there has to be some sort of treatment like a laser removal or something in that ball park, with the technology we have today there has to be something.
I am 23 years old, male, and of great health. I play college basketball so i get plenty and i mean plenty of excersice. I am very health conscience and eat very well. I dont smoke, I dont drink coffee (which I heard was not conducive for good skin) the only vice I have is to occassionally drink alcohol as any college student would, but not in excess and definitely not enough to effect my acne. I currently use proactive and actually it works great for me, i really do not have any acne when I use it but the minute i get off of it, literally prob 2 or 3 days without i will flare up in break outs. and it is just the most frustrating annoying thing in the world. to constantly have to worry about your face. The rest of my body is completely fine, i honestly could not ask for better skin over the rest of my body, even my neck is fine. Its just my face and I dont understand it. I cant find a reason to point to, like I said im in great health, eat well, practice good higene but just cant seem to shake the acne. and i am at an age now where im pretty sure im done developing and its not due to hormones. so anyway could anyone out there please give me some suggestions? i am honestly looking for like I said from the start some sort of lazer removal or something that would close my poors up. im not really interested in another topical cream, im at the point where i just want to be normal and not have to worry about my skin like 99% of every other adult in the world that can care less about how they shave or that they need to go immediately wash their face after sweating. im tired of having to constantly stay on top of my routine of making sure i do my proactive everytime i get out of the shower, and having to put all of those products on my skin, and having them bleach my clothes and my pillows, and leaving my face red and irritated more times than not. I would just LOVE to be normal.

Thanks

Corticosteroids and Seborrheic dermatitis.?

Hi, I am currently 24 years old and suffer from seborrheic dermatitis since I was 17. At first it wasn't really severe and didn't know what it was so I didn't take any medications or precautions. After it started to get worse my father took me to a dermatologist who gave me some corticosteroids and told me to go back a month later. Since the lotion really helped my case and me not being informed about it's sever side effects on long term use, I started to buy the medication every time I had finished the tube. This happened over the course of 2 years and I didn't really develop any severe side effects, except for acne (which I had a year of severe acne) but my skin was free of flares and irritation. I linked the acne to the lotion since I had never suffered acne before but I'm not really sure since many people get acne in high school. I then became aware of the severity of long term use and was really depressed when I stopped using it and my dermatitis came back after a few weeks stronger than ever, covering large parts of the face and scalp. I then went to another dermatologist who recommended I use the topical cream Elidel, and was told I could use it regularly since it didn't have any reported side effects. I always buy this product in Mexico (I live in the border) since it is dirt cheap and it is the exact same product, brand and everything. It has become a habit ever since, and I cannot stop using it for a week or so without flaring up again. While in use it really helps me and my skin is great, it is oily and shiny sometimes but I prefer that over the redness and dryness of dermatitis. I recently found out that Elidel has been linked to skin cancer and other skin diseases and that it now has a black box stating it's warnings on the us product, which I didn't know since the mexican product doesn't contain this warning. I now have years of use and I wonder if the couple of years of corticosteroids and the other years of Elidel can sum up to a future skin disaster. I am now again very frustrated since it has been my only door to a normal life. Well I would appreciate any info on the subject, and if anybody out there with this condition has any tips I would really really appreciate it. By the way I am now considering homeopathic treatment but we'll see how that goes. Thanks and God bless.

Changes in my skincare regimen, sublock, exfoliater, anti-biotics… help PLEASE!!?

Ok, so I have severe acne, whiteheads all over from my forehead to my neck and chest, to my back and shoulders.
Sorry to be gross but it's the truth.
It has been a problem for me since fourh grade and I am now a sophomore in high school.
Finally I went to my dermatologist because I have tried everything such as:
-Proactive
-Clean and Clear
-Neutrogena
-Proactive Gentle Formula
-SensiClear
-Clearisil Ultra, and many others.
So I was prescribed two treatments, one is an atibiotic, menacycline, and the other is a topical treatment tretinoin.
They are known to cause severe skin sensitivity and dryness. So my dermatologist recomended a sunblock. Also she recomended the neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. So I need to drastically change my skincare regimen.

Here is my current regimen:
- Proactive Gentle Formula Facial Scrub
- Proactive Gentle Formula Toner
- Proactive Gentle Formula Night and Day Lotion
And on occassion when I get dry
- Proactive Green Tea Moisturizer

I hae extremely oily skin but these products are known to cause severe dryness and sunburns, so this is what I have to add to my regimen:

- Oil Free SPF 15 sunblock
- Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash
- Tretinoin (topical cream)
- Menacycline (antibiotic)

Now I am supposed to take the Menacycline twice a day, and apply the Tretinoin at night before bed.
I still want to exfoliate every once in a while or maybe every night, idk.
My dermatologist said to use a face wash with Salicylic Acid which both my current Cleanser and my new Neutrogena Acne Wash have. So idk if I should use my Proactive scrub at night or buy something new or what. Idk when to use these new things, should I still use the toner and lotions? I really don't know what to do.
Help, Please and Thank You.

ea, been to derm23 yr old male, long sufferer of rosacea many times, I need new insight and my own experience?

Had Rosacea since senior high. Ever since I've been seeing derm with some success but I always end up coming back, either the product stopped being effective, or product had recieved a ban from the FDA. Also did light therapy session with little improvement.

I've used atleast 6 different topical cream just for rosacea, all if not most contain some sort of steroid and other chemicals I am afraid to have on my skin in the long term.

My rosacea can get ugly, with not just flushing but also bumps and blemishes. The most difficult part to treat is the ones located under my lower eyelid because using certain topical creams can thin the skin, you know what that means, ladies.

September 2008 is when I took a risk. I switched all my skin-care products to all-natural including shaving. Either it was going to get better or worse. It did get better, in 10 minutes saw noticeable result on the mirror! I felt the debris from the roscea just slide away, I can feel it on the tip of my fingers. This natural regimen caught the rosacea at its very early stage before it became full-blown, overnight. Obviously, I am also aware about other conditions that may play a role in causing rosacea to appear.

But fast forward to today, combination of getting fever, exposure to wind all day, physical stress made me breakout into a more widesprea area under the lower eye. It seems uncontrollable with the stuff I've been using for more than 6 months. It's as if my rosacea adapted to this new forumala, like a virus mutating into someting else that resist current treatments. I dont know this is happening.

I just need to know if someone out there has had any success formulating their own regimen using natural products. I have very sensitive skin and also prone to acne and other skin-related issues like eczema and seborrea.

The products that I used for my face: Dessert Essence: Jojoba Oil, Burt's Bees: Tomato Soap, Dessert Essence: Tea Tree oil.

For my hair, I use various Burt's Bees hair products, they are 98-100% natural and provided some relief with seborea on the scalp. I could not risk using chemicals that tend to flow over my face as I shower.

Again if you found something that works for you that is all-natural skin-care products or have tips on how to deal with rosacea that not commonly found over the Internet, kindly share them.
