How does Benzoyl Peroxide work, and why is it so murderous to my skin?

I am 16 and have been applying 10% Benzoyl Peroxide every night (after washing with Neutrogena Gentle Facial Cleanser) for just over a week now. After switching from sporradic Salicylic Acid use to BP, I responded well and quickly initially, and even had one day without acne... Now, however, it's just a bit better than it was before I began the treatment. The problem, however, is that my skin (especially my chin and cheeks) is now constantly horribly dry and flaky, though I apply a light moisturizer at least five times per day.

Any explanations about how BP works or suggestions about what to do for this condition... Should I stop or continue with the BP? I have mild to moderate acne and would love to be at least partially clear and not flaky by the time school begins in a week. Thanks a ton for any suggestions you can offer! =)
The moisturizer that I have been using has an SPF of 15.

Effective Acne Treatments?

I have oily skin and get a bunch of blackheads. Recommend a good treatment? I'm not allowed to take any pills or tablets or anything swallowed unless its natural. I also tan easily and get a lot of freckles so a good moisturizer with spf that makes my skin less freckly would help too. Recommendations?

Is it bad to have a skin care routine at 13?

I asked a question asking if i had a good skin care routine and a lot of people say that i shouldnt use all these chemicals on my skin or even care about my skin at 13.
I just use cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer and acne medication from the dermatologist for my back/chest acne.
it would be gross not to wash my face at all.
i also use spf 35 during the day
is that ok?

Skincare routine for a teenager?

I would really like to know some good products for a teenager to use that WORK! I have really oily skin on my forehead, nose, and chin. Even if I wash my face, an hour later, it will most likely be oily again. I constantly have pimples on my forehead, and blackheads on my nose. Though my chin is oily, it doesn't tend to breakout as much, but it has recently. My cheeks don't usually have any zits, though sometimes they may get one or two. I would really like to have clear skin when school starts in a little over a month.

Currently, I use Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser and Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. The face wash has almost run out so next I have a Cetaphil one to use. I have heard that I should be using:
-a gel or foam-based cleanser
-an alcohol-free toner
-an oil-free moisturizer with SPF for the daytime
-an oil-free moisturizer for the nighttime
-an acne spot treatment
-a weekly microbead exfoliator or acne masque

The questions I have are: What skin type do I have? (I think its combination-oily but I'm not sure) Do I really need to be using all of these kinds of products? What are good products to use that will help me have clear skin?

Feel free to add anything, but please don't tell me just to wait.

Daily moisturizer with both acne control and SPF?

I have been using a face moisturizer with SPF. It wasn't a problem when the weather was cool, but now that it's very hot out, my face becomes very oily with it, which is causing me to break out a lot.

My question is:

Is there a face moisturizer on the market that is both an acne treatment AND contains SPF? I was previously just using Clean and Clear acne face moisturizer, but recently noticed some fine wrinkles and decided it was time I start preventing them!

Thank you!

Extra Strength Proactiv or Acne Free Severe to Clear?

I have been using proactiv for two months now...and no change. Should I switch to the extra strength formula kit? Or should i use the Acne Free Severe to Clear kit from the drugstore? I had tried the normal Acne Free acne kit last sumer, and it irritated my skin and I had to stop it before it could really start to work, but I didn't use a moisturizer with it and was in the sun a lot. Now I moisturize with spf like crazy so proactiv hasn't irritated my skin, and i'm thinking Acne Free won't either if i continue to moisturize. So from experience, would you recommend Proactiv Extra Strength, or Acne Free Severe to Clear??
