Can you see a dermatologist for blackheads and acne scars?

If you can what treatments and/or prescriptions would they give you?

Do acne treatments really work?

I have tried acne treatments for about 4 years and they have never done much for my skin even prescriptions didnt help. Has anyone actually had results with these acne treatments that are supposed to clear your skin?

Natural scar-faders?

I have acne scars on my cheeks, neck, and shoulders. They have been getting lighter [veryy slowly] over time, and I've gone through numerous topical prescriptions. I stopped using all medicines/prescription creams about 6 months ago, and I feel that my skin has been looking better than before.

Does anyone know of any natural/ home remedies for scar treatment?? OR any specific foods/ types of foods that help??

I'm Indian with, I'd say, light-medium brown skin. - Aren't scars more stubborn on darker skin?

Thanks!
anddd --> Is there anything I should NOT be eating/drinking?
Also, I don't really have an acne problem anymore. It's just scars. =/

Acne prescription treatment?

Hey guys, thanks for your help.
I have pretty good skin, although my forehead has a bunch of spots, not acne, just scars, darker little dots.
Sometimes i break out, and usually have at least 10 small zits on my face at one time.
My doctor randomly prescribed Benzoyl Peroxide Gel and Tretinoin Gel to be applied every day, one each day.
It says that you will break out initially, can't go out in the sun and that it will lighten your skin. I start school in two weeks, pictures are next week, and homecoming is october 2nd.
My mom dropped the prescriptions off last night, so i have 0 worth of acne stuff i dont even know if i want. its not returnable.
How can i go to school everyday with the best possible skin? I want to be able to wake up and not have to wear makeup all over my face everyday. I don't want to go through a long period of time when i look terrible.
as of now, i wash my face twice daily, and kinda like my skin. I want it to be better for school though, and would probably wear makeup. I wore tons of makeup every day last year, and would prefer not to have to again.
I'm tan now and would go tanning outside before homecoming, and really don't want gross, flaky, peeling red skin that cannot tan based on directions.

What should i do? I don't even know if i want to use the acne medications, but i feel like i must or my mom would get mad, and it would be a terrible waste of money. They "expire" in three months, but i think i could use them after that.

Please help me if you've used them or have advice!
Thank you so much.

What are the best acne treatments available? 22 yr old male?

I've had to deal with acne since I was in my younger teens. It got bad then went away for a while and once I got out of my teens I thought I was done dealing with it. I am now 22 years old and still have acne and it is breaking out bad. I went to the doctors and received prescriptions for doxycycline hyclate and tretinoin cream. These prescriptions did start to work after a few days and I did notice results. However after about a month and a half of taking it now my acne is coming back worse than before. I have also been using clearasil vanishing cream to help cover up the acne(since I'm a guy and can't use make up) and that seems to be drying out my face burning and making my acne worse. I normally have oily skin and thought I would try it. I have tried proactive, neutrogena products and a lot of other over the counter products in the past. I've also tried natural products like egg whites, honey which helped the oiliness but not the acne. I do not know what is causing it. I drink plenty of water and eat healthy. I also take 1-2 flax seed oil capsules per day. I am trying to get this to go away asap or at least calm down some until I get to a dermatologist who knows what their doing since my last doctor didn't. Does anyone know of any products that I can get to show results immediately and/or any good vitamins I could take a long with my prescription.

so if i use them only sparingly in the beginning, does that lessen my chance of a breakout?
