Presciption Acne Treatments and Dermatologist Help.?
I went to the Dermotologist last year, and they prescribed my Retin-A and Minicycline Pills. They kept having me come back and I had to set for over 2 hours each time and never even got to see the actual dermotologist, just a nurse.
The pills didn't clear the acne on my chest and worked pretty good on my face, but I still got breakouts so I asked her if there was something else I could take. She said the only other option was Acutane, and if you take that you must go every month for a blood test because it can damage your liver and a pregnancy test because it can harm fetuses. Needless to say I didn't go with that.
Is that really all I can try? Should I go and demand to see the real doctor? I need advice.
I live in a rural area of Kentucky and there is only 1 dermo. in the area. I have tried almost every brand of OTC out there and if Proactive was so good, people wouldn't say it was bad and it would be sold OTC.
We don't have a Macys either!
Just what can be done for pregnancy-related acne?
My skin's turning into a mess, and most of the prescription acne remedies are not pregnancy-safe.
I do eat well, drink lots of water, etc -- not helping. I'd rather not spend the next months indoors, or outdoors looking dreadful.
What's useful? Are cosmetic laser treatments on the face ever performed during pregnancy? Do dermatologists have anything up their sleeves? What OTC remedies are pregnancy-safe and effective for cystic acne, blackheads, etc?
what can i do to get rid of acne scars?
ok im currently using an acne treatment for my zits and bumps and its working but i have acne scars from my old acne. does anyone know of any home remedies to get rid of the scars? i was thinkin of gettin a microdermabrasion but i dont have the money so wat can i use from home or buy otc.

I have pretty subborn acne, i've tried otc. when that didn' t work i went to the doc. i got a script for benzoclin, when that didn't work they added a oral antibiotic. that didn't work - so i went to a dermo, he put me on a benzol perioxide wash, a different oral antibiotic and a foam called evoclin. that didn't work - now he wants to try "accutane" i don't want to try accutane due to the list of side affects. can anyone suggest something?? what has worked for you?? btw i dont have nodular acne, its just stubborn
Nodular acne – really painful! Help?
With my period, I always get some SUPER FUN (yeah right) nodular pimples.
I do not break out except for these. I currently have 3 on my face. Warm water, OTC acne washes, Proactive, and even oral contraceptives do little to help. I don't even care so much about the appearance anymore, because I can cover them and there are only a few.
I do care about the pain of these rock hard lumps under my skin. Anytime anything touches them, even strong air pressure causes pain.
How can I relieve them?! I'm ready to just cut my face off to get rid of the pain lol.
Could I drain it with a needle and syringe?
What is the best acne treatment for fair skin?
I have very pale and sensitive skin. Also, i have redness that i would Love to get rid of! But i don't want to spend a fortune! Is there an OTC acne treatment that really works without breaking the bank??
