How long does it take the body to absorb calories?
I just want to know because I plan on eating something and purging it back up (throw up). For example let's say if it takes calories 10 minutes to be absorbed and I purge the food back up before that time limit will they be all gone
So I guess the question here is this if food is thrown up before the body has time to absorb nutrients and calories will the calories be gone from the body. Please no insults or preaching to me on how this is not a smart thing to do. I know all that crap
How do you know if you have chronic fatigue syndrome?
I ve been feeling a bit weak lately and somewhat sleepy and drained out. I was just wondering how do I know if I have chronic fatigue syndrome and what are the symptoms?
I had this problem since the year 2004, but my doctors couldnt figure it out. Three of my doctors were involved and each one told me a different situation. One of them being my sleep specialist believe it was sleep apnea and perodic limb movement sndrome, the 2nd one as my internal medicine doctor believed that my thyroid could be low, and the 3rd one being my acupuncturist believed that my body isnt recieving the nutrients that I need and thus no energy. So, basically I dont know what is the main symptom that is causing me to become weak and making me sleep long hours.
I have tried provigil and it did work for a bit then after 2 weeks later I got immune to the medicine and it stopped working for me.
How would severe starvation be treated in a hospital?
I need a DETAILED account of how someone with severe (near death) starvation would be treated in a hospital. I know it would involve introducing nutrients little by little. How long would it take until the person (female young adult) is COMPLETELY healthy again? What would the entirety of the treatment involve?
Also, what symptoms would be present at different times of treatment?

How do I go on a vegan diet and still get all the nutrients I need?
One of my friend's family has gone on a vegan diet. I did some research on vegans and it sounds like a great way to eat, but how do you still get all the nutrients? Without meat how are you getting protien and calcium without the dairy? How do you know if somethings processed or not? I honestly know just about nothing about food (calories, fiber, or what any of this really is) so i need it straight forward please. Thanks.
How long until I see results from my work out routine?
I'm starting out small, with 3 sets of 10 dumbbell Flys, 3 sets of 10 bicep curls and hammer curls, and 5 sets of 20 sit ups. My problem is I have a eating problem and I rarely have an appetite, so I don't get much protein or nutrients. How will this effect the results I'm trying to get?
Infant formula, Cow Milk and Autism?
First, my proposition and reasoning:
1. Human milk contains a nutritional balance unique to humans, including, most importantly for my proposal, hormones like oxytocin that encourage bonding, trust and love.
2. Infant formula contains similar nutrients but they are altered from their natural state, thus altering the natural state of the infant.
3. Cow milk contains a nutritional balance, including hormones that encourage the emotional growth of cows.
4. Humans should have a deeper emotional breadth and depth than cows. Autistic humans have an emotional life much closer to cows than humans.
Which leads me to the proposal:
Infant formula + Cow Milk - Breast Milk = Autism
I am well aware that even if this summation approaches the truth, it is oversimplified. This leads me to my questions:
What are your opinions on this issue? Are you aware of any long-term studies on the effects of infant formula, cow milk, and breast feeding on autism?
According to my various google searches, people are more concerned whether infant formula contains gluten than if it contains the very chemicals that will turn their child into a human being: Backward priorities? Misinformation on an institutional level?
I'm sorry if I sound crass, but people don't seem to know or care why we are slowly dying as a species...
How is the HIV virus passed into the body tissues from the blood?
When someone catches the HIV virus into their bloodstream they could pass it on to others via their bodily fluids. But how does HIV get into their bodily fluids in the first place? For example, how does the virus get from the capillaries into an organ like the testicles and therefore how does it infect the semen? Is it by diffusion like nutrients or what?
