Acne Woes- Nothing has worked!?
Ok. Here's my story. I have very sensitive skin. I started my fist major outbreak in 5th grade. It has been known to be hereditary in my family and was also stress induced. I am now 15 and have not had ONE moment of clear skin. My acne is almost cystic along my jaw, but everywhere else is just normal acne. I am at my wits end with this. Ive tried EVERY product, Pro-active, clearisal, arbonne, a ton of neutrogena products, oxy, and some spa treatments. All of these have gotten it somewhat under control, but none can break through that threshold and clear my skin up. I'm going to see the dermatologist soon, but am heavily doubting anything will work on me. I dont touch my face, i always wash, and take daily showers. I'm tired of my face hurting and always being the one with ugly skin. Please help!
what acne solution will help me?
It runs in my family to have acne as an adolescent, my mother, father, and sisters all had it. They also tend to have skin that is on the oily side.
About every other week, I have a breakout. Most of the time I'll get 1 or 2 of the huge, under-the-skin pimples, but once in a while i'll get 4-6 little red ones. So far, I haven't found anything that works that well.
What i used to do was start by washing my face with philosophy face wash, and once a week the philosophy exfoliating face wash. Then, I applied Clearasil acne control treatment (10% Benzoyl Peroxide) on the pimples (doesn't work on the under-the-skin ones) which i left on overnight. This was generally slow and took several weeks to treat so i tried something else that worked better.
I switched to Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash (2% Salicylic Acid) and instead of using Benzoyl Peroxide cream for spot treatment, i use toothpaste and leave it on overnight. After 2 days of that, i use Neosporin for the following 2 nights. This method works great but leaves my skin very dried out afterward.
Do you have any suggestions on regiments that will be more efficient and less damaging. i'm not into all-natural concoctions; i'll use anything, meant for the skin or not, that clears it up quickly
I think why my acne is not so bad is because I already do not eat a lot of chocolate or soda. Also, I'm in the sun a lot too which could also contribute.
As for Neutrogena products, i only use the oil-free cleansers.
What's your favorite Neutrogena skin product?
I mean such as face washes, scrubs, masks, spot treatments, etc.
I use their body wash for my back, my chest, and sometimes my shoulders, and it works rather well.
I'm thinking about buying the Oil-Free Acne Wash 60 Second Mask Scrub, On-the-Spot Acne Treatment, and the Oil-Free Anti-Acne Moisturizer, but that's some money to pay. I wanted to know your opinion on Neutrogena products, or other products that are affordable and are available at stores such as Target, Walgreens, and Wal-Mart.
I usually get acne between my eyebrows, my chin, under my nose, and on my cheeks. Not really "acne", but zits here and there. It's usually my fault because I pop my zits all the time and it makes my skin look terrible. My skin will clear up, but then one zit will appear and it's downhill from there.
Answers are appreciated, thanks. :]
Oily skin and Acne?
Well, first off.. I have very oily skin on my face but its not the entire face, just around the nose and forehead.. I wash my face mornings and nights and I do use an astrigent.. but once I get to school in the mornings my face soon gets oily again.. and it bothers me because I can't just go to the bathroom 3 times during the school day to wash my face.. and I was wondering if theres anything I could do for that..
And I was also wondering, what product do you think works BEST for both treatment of ACNE and OILY skin and I'm leaning more on face wash products instead of the actual creams (but you can add which ever cream products too)
I've tried
-Clean&Clear.
-Neutrogena products..
-Clearasil products..
So I don't really want those types.. i'm also looking for something that kind of affordable too.. nothing above 12 dollar-ish..
So could anyone recommend a nicely working face wash/cream product for acne/oily skin?
Oh yes, I've tried St. Ives Apricot Scrub.. it's very very bad for your skin. And thanks for the all the answers, I will try an oil absorbing sheet products.. but does anyone have an actual facewash that they'd recommend?
i would maybe like to hear an actual persons point of view..
has anyone tried Biore? I've been seeing some of those around.. and if so What type of Biore Product should I get?
What are the best acne treatments available? 22 yr old male?
I've had to deal with acne since I was in my younger teens. It got bad then went away for a while and once I got out of my teens I thought I was done dealing with it. I am now 22 years old and still have acne and it is breaking out bad. I went to the doctors and received prescriptions for doxycycline hyclate and tretinoin cream. These prescriptions did start to work after a few days and I did notice results. However after about a month and a half of taking it now my acne is coming back worse than before. I have also been using clearasil vanishing cream to help cover up the acne(since I'm a guy and can't use make up) and that seems to be drying out my face burning and making my acne worse. I normally have oily skin and thought I would try it. I have tried proactive, neutrogena products and a lot of other over the counter products in the past. I've also tried natural products like egg whites, honey which helped the oiliness but not the acne. I do not know what is causing it. I drink plenty of water and eat healthy. I also take 1-2 flax seed oil capsules per day. I am trying to get this to go away asap or at least calm down some until I get to a dermatologist who knows what their doing since my last doctor didn't. Does anyone know of any products that I can get to show results immediately and/or any good vitamins I could take a long with my prescription.
Acne – What other options do I have?
I am so frustrated with my skin! I have tried:
- Birth control
- Mud masques
- Egg whites
- Honey
- Toothpaste
- Tablespoon of cream of tartar every day
- Avoiding dairy products
- Neutrogena products
- Drinking more water
- Washing my face more/less
- Cut sugar consumption in half
What other options do I have left to help it? I'll let it be known that my acne (blackheads, occasional whitehead and cystic pimples) is definitely worse before my period.
I'd like to try Accutane, but if my acne is mainly hormonal, is that a problem?
The dermatologists in my area are really hard to be referred to. I've heard quite often that they're only seeing those with very serious issues, like cancer.
bumps like acne but not?? what is it.?
i have these skin colored bumps on my back. it isnt acne though. and then i have like 3 on my forehead. they wont pop. acne spot treatment wont work. ice wont work. exfoliation wont work. toothpaste wont work. what are they?? how can i get rid of them?
they are small and skin colored. and hard.
i use Neutrogena products... they do nothing
i used dermalogica... i didnt like it. and they dont hurt. they are just there. if you try to scrape them then they hurt but thats normal i think.
Roaccutane for only mild acne?
My acne is quite mild compared to many with acne problems but it still feel affects my confidence. I'm going to my doctor today to inquire about treatments for it (I've tried extensively modifying my diet (cutting out greasy foods, eating lots of fruit and veg), using neutrogena products and benzoyl peroxide daily, but I still get spots.
I heard that roaccutane is an effective treatment. But would a doctor prescribe it for only mild acne?
Acne Treatment?
Okay so i have very very very sensitive skin, but its kinda oily in the T-zone, i use neutrogena products but i really want to find a system that works for me. I break out, but none of them are big, their usually on my chin , and on my forehead some are on the side of my face. So do you have any tips. Neutrogena products oily. I'm 13 and i live in canada , if that helps with anything.
