Treatment of hormonal acne?
I am 21 years old and have had consistent issues with acne since I was 12 years old. Over the years I have tried almost every acne treatment product on the market ranging from over the counter creams and washes in the beginning, to prescription acne creams and medications in the more recent years. So far nothing I have tried has made any difference. My acne has improved slightly with age and that's about it. I have come to the conclusion along with my doctor that my acne is hormonally related and this is why drying creams such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide have not helped me at all. I am interested to know what medications and products others have used to combat hormonal acne and what has worked the best. I am sick and tired of living with bad skin especially now that I am entering my 20's and I am looking for something that will be successful in treating my acne.
* I have also tried Proactive and found that it did absolutely nothing to help my skin.
** I have also been on the pill since I was 17 and tried around 10 different brands including Tricyclen and Diane 35.
*** I have also tried a course of oral antibiotics specifically for the treatment of acne.
Can minocycline or epiduo cause blackhead breakouts?
I've always had mild acne and oily skin so i decided to go to the dermatologist about a month and a half ago. My dermatologist perscribed me with both minocycline and epiduo in order to treat my acne. I have now been following my doctors exact directions on using these drugs for about month and a half. My skin has gotten worse never before would i get blackheads and now my skin is covered in them. I have also devolped very dry skin that flakes off while still looking oily along with this random blackhead breakout all over my face. I know that one of the side affects of both these medications is maybe some dry skin in the beginning, but could this blackhead breakout all over my face be caused from the acne treatment I am taking? I have never gotten blackheads on my face until after taking this medication.

What is the best birth control for treating acne?
I was on Tri-Sprintec for a month, then switched over to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a month, but I have now been off of all forms of birth control for a month now. I stopped because I could not see any encouraging results in my skin within the month that I took these medications. I'm interested in Yaz, but I have heard that it can take a couple of months to begin working properly. What brand of birth control would you recommend for the treatment of moderate acne, menstrual cramping and regulation, etc.?
Help with blackheads and acne?
OK so I have oliy combination skin and I don't get that many zits or if I do, they're really small. I would like to know of any medications or treatments to keep them away for good?
Also, I have had blackheads on my nose for as long as I can remember...How in the world do you get rid of them AND keep them away? My friend said a toner will keep them away after they are gone, is that true?
