Should I wash my face more than twice a day?

I never really had a major problem with acne throughout my teen years. I am now 21. I used to have very oily skin here and there but my breakouts were under control when I used papaya natural bar soap until I got so curious with the Tea Tree line from The BodyShop and st. ives apricot scrub. I find both of them were just way too harsh for my skin. Then I switch to Aiken Tea Tree Oil with hope I could get rid of my already was acne, ok that was 3 months ago. Then I switch back to the papaya bar soap, but this too didnt seem to work for my skin anymore. I then tried using a sea cucumber extract anti acne facial wash together with the moisturizer. It was ok until the second week I breakout tremendously that I had to switch back to the papaya bar soap. But this time, not only it made my acne worsen, I also get this tight sort of feeling around my cheeks and mouth, it hurts so much when I wash my face especially on the cheeks, and I experience redness all over my face, my pimples look irritated and my skin was overdry. I tried putting Bio Oil since it is used to rehydrate dry skin, I applied it as often as I could but nothing worked. Absolutely nothing. I was depressed with my dry skin. I breakout almost everywhere. My forehead (which I never had pimples on my forehead), My cheeks, jaw line, chin and above my upper lips. There are many of them. I tried using benzoyl peroxide from 5% to 10%, it irritated my pimples. My skin gets really dry and sensitive due to applying too much harsh products on my skin. But then after hours of research through the internet, I found Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser which can be used on baby's skin and wont sting eyes. That pretty much explains how mild and gentle this cleanser is! I've been using this for 2 days, together with neutrogena alcohol free and a cetaphil moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin and not to forget, a clean and clear acne spot treatment. Work wonders! My pimples are shrinking dramatically over night. I only applied once on my red angry pimple. So far, this is the first time in these 4 months period that I have NO NEW PIMPLES growing in a day. like seriously. I can see my existing acne is clearing out. My skin is back to normal and no more dry flaky skin after only 2 times applying little amount of cetaphil moisturizer. I'm happy with my skin condition right now, oh I've been drinking lots and lots of water lately, that helps too I guess. Really sorry for this long message, but I just want to share to everybody how amazing this products are. It takes lots of trial and error until you found the right products for your skin. I would suggest to be more gentle to your skin rather than using harsh chemicals to actually treat your acne. So my question is, I must wash my face 4 times a day, in the morning 6am, after having my lunch around 1pm, after I got back from Uni around 6pm and before bed 12pm. I was told to only wash face twice per day. Is this bad for my skin? I really dont want to ruin my skin. Having a dry flaky skin really is a nightmare for me..

I've struggled with acne since around 5th grade…need some help. Please [: ?

Well my question is my problem. I am now in 9th grade and still struggling to fight acne. I have blackheads on my nose and cheeks and can't seem to get rid of them. ProActive made my face worse and Stridex only seemed to work temporarily. I've been using my brothers Clean & Clear Facial Wash and a different thing of Clean & Clear and they fairly keep the pimples away but not they're just not getting rid of my blackheads. Is there something out there that could help?

Acne scars, getting my pale skin back, dark circles?

Acne Scars: For 3-4 years now I've been battling acne, it's practically all gone now but then you have the scars. They range from light tan ones to ones that are almost black. Home remedies please (:

Pale Skin+Dark circles: I'm chinese and I used to have EXTREAMLY pale skin. almost white and now I have a really tanned skin colour. I know it's not a sun-tan situation, it's just my skin really has gotten darker. I'm thinking it has something to do with the whole acne and scars on my face, maybe the skincare products I'm using?* Then again, for these last few years I've also had really bad sleeping habits, I'm starting to fix that but for a general idea I used to sleep at about 3 am everyday and wake up by 7am. Which is why I also have really bad dark circles ( Are they really caused by lack of sleep?), home remedies or drugstore eyecream suggestions <3

*Currently using regularly: The Body Shop Tea tree facial wash, day moisturizer, night lotion and aloe toner. St.Ives apricot scrub for blemish and blackheads and peel off hydroxy masque. Clean and clear advantage blackhead clearing mask, panoxyl antibacterial acne gel ( 5% benzoyl peroxide, alcohol base for oily skin) and L'oreal age prefect pro calcium for eyes and lips. No make-up.

Occasionally: Clean and clear morning burst shine control scrub, Biore moonlighting night moisturizer and Bio-oil.

I'm drinking about 7-10 cups of water everyday but as for eating well, my mom tends to stick with the same stuff, no variety =.= So I don't really quite get all the nutients I need, but I'm trying to convince her to get me vitamins (Suggestions?)

How can I get rid of my acne?

I've tried castor oil which did nothing.

I tried Neutrogena which only made my face feel really tight after I washed, but other than that it did nothing. I've tried Proactiv, which did nothing. Antiseptic ointment, toothpaste, and various spot treatments that contain sacyllic acid, sulfur, or benzol peroxide that I've tried did nothing but dry it out, causing it to scab over.

I tried a homemade aloe vera mask which got rid of tiny bumps and made my skin very soft, but it did nothing for the main acne. Ditto with things like honey, lemon juice, grapes,

My diet is pretty healthy, I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and whole wheat and avoid fast food, fried food, dairy products (I'm lactose-intolerant), red meat, excessively salty foods, sugary foods; I drink plenty of water (about five cups per day, and I don't drink anything else besides soy milk)

I don't exercise much except for PE and occasionally walking home, but I'm not sure if that's contributing to my acne?

I wear sunblock everyday (Neutrogena.) I ice my face after I shower. I swear I've done everything I can but it's still pretty bad - on the tops of my cheeks, a few by my chin, a few on my forehead (but mainly just my cheeks.) I don't wear make up at all.

My parents suggested that maybe I had been putting too many things on my face, I about three weeks ago I stopped using all products and masks, and only used a mild, unscented facial wash by Clinique once a day. It didn't work.

My friends say it could be my lack of sleep (I have an "A" period and get up earlier than the rest of them) but I've been trying to go to bed by nine o'clock by each night, while waking up at 6:30 - 7:00.

I'm currently using the Clinique 3-Step Acne Remedy, but just wondering if there's anything else I should try if this doesn't work. If not, what could be causing the acne? I'm a freshmen in high school; could it be stress? I also have a side swept fringe, but my hair isn't anywhere near my acne, so it can't be oil from my hair.

Thanks in advance.
I am Schnitz: I change my pillowcase every week and change the towels I wrap around it every other day. (This was the first thing my dad suggested to me a while back)

chloe: My mom won't let me go to a dermatologist just yet because she claims that my skin can get a lot worse, and that nothing is getting infected. :/

Please help I got a problem on my face?

I have always had skin to die for when I was younger. I had the clearest face a teenager could ever want. Now, I'm 25 years old and one side of my face has 5 pimples on it. One big one in particular which is the darkest by the way. They are not red or pusy or anything but I cannot stand looking at them!!!! I use olay facial wash twice a day. I wash my hands before I wash my face and wet it then apply the facial cleanser. I can't really tell if it's doing anything. The pimple size has not reduced. I don't have money to buy expensive acne treatment cream or whatever. Is there an approved home remedy that I could use to help me be rid of this problem? I'm really broken up about it!
