What to do about stubborn acne?
I have tried almost every product that is out there
(here's a general list of what i've tried:
Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Oil-Free Power-Clean Scrub
Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask
neutrogena pore refining cleanser
most clean&clear products including the advantage system, but it always dries out my face and gives me a rash
the body shop tea tree cleanser and toner
Clearasil Ultra Daily Face Wash
Clearasil Ultra Acne Treatment Cream Vanishing
Clearasil Pimple Blocker Pen
and this pore minimizer warming scrub from loreal or something at the department store)
and probably others i can't quite remember. things with 2% benzoyl peroxide, 10% benzoyl peroxide, 2% salicylic acid EVERYTHING
this is my one and only self esteem issue. i don't wear any coverup/foundation/powder or anything that covers my face, only make up i wear is mascara. my cheeks and chin are usually fine, every once in a blue moon they act up, but its nothing too bad. my nose has TONS of blackheads, large and noticeable. and my forehead is the big problem area. i wear my hair out of my face, i wash my face twice 3 times a day (when i wake up, after school, before bed). i drink 10 8floz of water a day, i don't touch my face you would think my face would be flawless but nope. i get break outs all the time. and now they've moved down to my cheeks which i was always confident with because they are clear. but my darn forehead. i break out with a zit at least once every 2-3 days and they last about 5-7 days so there is at least 4 on my face at all times. its a bummer and i see girls who exercise and don't wash their face right after and they touch their face and wear make up and have the prettiest clearest most flawless faces ever. i can't stand it.
what products should i take? what works the best for extremely stubborn acne?!
please help!
i also get a facial every couple months
What can I do to get rid of acne and blackheads?
I have tried almost everything in the book to get rid of my acne. Neutrogenia, ProActive, Clean and Clear. I also went to the dermatologist, but he gave me something that really dries out my skin. What can I use on my skin?
What are some strong natural oils, soaps, etc. that help against acne?
I've all-ways had quite a acne problem. I've stopped using cover-up (clogs the pores) and putting lotion on my face for some time now. I have naturally oily skin and therefore, a great acne problem. My acne has calmed down as I've gotten older (I'm 17 now). I do have a 'break out' (besides the norm) about once a month. I use some apricot face scrub and both peroxide and rubbing alcohol. I know rubbing alcohol dries out the skin so, I use it on bad spots. I also used some prescription cream but, I'm running out and I don't think I can get another prescription. I'm interested in using natural oils and soaps to help my problem. I also suffer from blackheads and occasionally acne on my shoulders. I'm also allergic to adhesives so, I can't use blackhead tape. I've heard tea tree oil works well, does it work for people with oily skin? I also have many scars from acne, is there anything that will help them? Thank you so much for all your help and suggestions. :)
What is the best OTC acne treatment?
I have acne that ranges from mild to moderate, with huge pores and some mild discoloration from old breakouts. My skin dries out extremely quickly, and all the moisturizers I have tried, including oil free ones, make me break out more. Mineral makeup also causes my skin to break out badly. I have tried numerous products including proactive, clean and clear advantage, and acnefree. Everything seems to work nicely for the first week or so, and then it just seems to stop.
Do you have any suggestions as to what I could try, that is not prescription? Ideally I am looking for a 3 step system similar to proactive or acnefree. I've been looking at brands like Clinique thinking that they might be of better quality, do you have any thing in mind?
What;s the best treatment(s) to use to get rid of acne and not have dry skin or acne scars?
right now i use. Clearasil Ultra Face Wash...then i put rubbing alcohol on the acne (dries it out) then i put on Clearasil. it works good but there's still acne. any ideas?
What kind of benzoyl peroxide product / moisturizer should I buy?
I have a good deal of acne and blackheads, and would like to buy some benzoyl peroxide and a moisturizer to go along with it (I heard it dries out your skin).
What products do you suggest I purchase that work well? I would prefer it to come from a pretty common store.
Thanks!
Pro-active vs. Neutrogena? (Or any other acne medication…)?
I've already subscribed to Pro-active, but it dries out my skin like crazy. A lot of people recommended Neutrogena, but I'm afraid if I try it and it doesn't work, it'll take a long time to get my acne under control again. Which kind of acne treatment do you recommend, preferably one that won't dry out skin if I used it consistently?
What acne treatment should I use?
I have struggled with acne for about 4 years and I've tried proactiv, skinID, and many other over the counter cleansers as well. I have fairly sensitive skin and moderate acne. My face dries out pretty quickly as well. What cleanser or acne system should I use to get good results and fast?
I was thinking of the 3 step neutrogena kit or acne free. Any suggestions?
