Are laser treatments effective in reducing oiliness in skin?

I have been plagued with EXTREMELY oily skin. My makeup can't last any longer than four hours because it just slides off. Mattifying primers break me out, blotting papers are not long lasting enough, toners make my skin produce even more oil in the long run, and I can't go on accutane because I have a history of depression. I've used masks, Milk of Magnesia, washed with Cetaphil, washed with Neutrogena's salicylic acid wash, etc. I'm beyond help! I recently read an article that the laser treatments used for acne damage the sebaceous glands and reduce oil production by A LOT. Is that true?!
I wasn't asking about acne, I said OILY SKIN.

I'm obsessed with my facial blemishes?

In over 4 years I have acquried an obsession with my facial blemishes. I have a few nodules, I mainly get pustules (but I haven't in awhile), ocassionally papules & some whiteheads(closed comedones). I have a bunch of small acne scars on my forehead from picking but I've broken that habit.

I have combination skin meaning its oily on the forehead, nose & some of the skin under my eye right next to my nose. The parts that are oily are the areas that get acne & the dry areas are flawless. & I do use oil control film but it fails me.

I have tried everything from creams to foams to scrubs to facials to home remedies to on the spot acne treatments, benzoyl peroxide, salisylic acid, toners & so on.

I've used brands like Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Clean & Clear, Clearasil, St. Ives, Stridex, Sea Breeze, Eskinol, Olay, Erythromycin Topical Solution (prescribed by my dermatologist)

I have a device from Dermanew that uses microdermabrasion to refine & polish the skin & get deep down into the pores.

I mainly use honey if its for anything pimple related but I have used basil, oat meal, apple cider vinegar, sugar, green tea, etc.

I live cleanly & healthy. I was my hair everyday & make sure not to clean my hairline with conditioner. I pin my bangs up. My bed is clean. My house is clean. My town is not so clean. I eat healthy & drink tons of water, in fact its all I drink. I get enough hours of sleep. I am not stressed. My family hasn't suffered acne problems just the typical teen zits. I have finished my period a week ago too.

I have consulted my dermatologist about this & she gives me perscriptions that don't work or my mom won't buy it because its too expensive.

My acne isn't as severe as those people who desperately need it but on a scale from 1 - 10 of how pimply I am is about a 5.

So what can I do to rid myself of this acne or a way to cope with the ugliness.
Btw, all my treatments I have spaced out & I changed products like 4 or 5 months out of no results in usage.
I'm not stressed I'm just really bothered with all my acne.

What sort of moisturizer should I use for my very dry and very sensitive skin?

I was recently prescribed to a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Zania gel to treat my blackheads and slight acne. Both (the cleanser, especially) have been drying out my face IMMENSELY! My dermatologist told me that if my skin starts to dry out, take a break from the wash (peroxide cleanser) for about four days, but continue the use. I have since taken the break, continued the usage, and limited the wash to once a day, whereas whenever else I wash, I just use regular soap. My skin is still very dry to the point of peeling, but also very sensitive. I can't find a really great moisturizer that doesn't hurt, sting, or cause redness when I use it on my very dry skin. I need a moisturizer VERY badly. I have used Aveeno, Cetaphil, and St. Ives moisturizers, and all result in me rushing to the bathroom sink to relieve my face of incredible discomfort.

Does anybody know of a moisturizer that might fit my situation?

Whats a good body wash for body acne, that won't only treat but will also cleanse the skin?

Whats a good body wash for body acne, that won't only treat but will also cleanse the skin? I'm thinking of trying the Neutrogena Body wash but i don't know the difference between the wash and the scrub, also when using this would you only use it on the parts where you have acne like your back and chest or is it safe to use it as your everyday body wash? I also heard that the Cetaphil or Dove beauty soap bars could help the body acne? I need all the advice i can get!

Thanks so much!

What should I do to prevent acne and heal redness and blemishes on my face?

I used to used Ziana to help heal and prevent my acne and blemishes. I went off of it when i ran out and was able to wash my face with a gentle cleanser (cerave) and used cetaphil as a moisturizer which worked really well. Recently I have been breaking out like crazy on my forhead and I can't prevent it. I also have a bunch of nasty blemishes too that won't heal. What should I do in terms of washing and what moisturizer can I use to heal my skin and get rid of redness. I have very sensitive skin.

What are some REALLY good facial cleansers with no oil residue?

I currently use Cetaphil, and it's a good product and all, but I want something more refreshing. I feel like sometimes when I wash my face there's a bit of a residue (maybe it's just me) ... but I also don't use a toner. Does anyone know of any good facial cleaners that they have used that give that refreshing, clean feeling? I'm looking for a drugstore product? Something not too expensive but works well. I was actually considering trying Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash but the reviews I have read online weren't that great. Also, any medicated spot acne treatments you want to recommend? Thank you.

Question about acne treatment?

I am asking this question again because the answers I got before were either not helpful, or I wasn't sure if certain treatments were reputable.

I have nodular type acne which actually hasn't been so bad lately. Now the biggest problem is that anything I use turns my face red and makes it dry. I can't use moisturizer or even water on my face without it burning or turning red. I thought about acutane, but I have no insurance and the pharmacist just told me that it costs over 1,000 dollars for a 30 day supply and the generic brand is 400 dollars. She also told me that there are a lot of lawsuits on the stuff because of birth defects, liver problems and psychotic episodes, so even if I had the insurance, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to use it. Can anyone please tell me what I can use that will help with the acne and clear up the redness?

With no luck, I've already tried:
neutrogena
clean and clear
benzoil peroxide
apple cider vinegar
baking soda
sea breeze
panoxyl
cetaphil
and just plain old spot treatment.
zitdr_02- I went to the dermatologist and she was the one who told me I would need accutane. I couldn't use it because I was breastfeeding. Now that I know more about it, I wouldn't want it anyways.
Anyone know anything about MaxClarity or AcneAce?

I have an idea, teen health?

I've tried exersicing until I pass out, running on 800 calories a day, alli pills, fasting, and all of the above combined. No fat loss! i actually gained a few :(. I've tried clearasil, acnefree, clean & clear, cetaphil (worked okay :) ), neutrogena, and MINOCYCLINE! I still have acne. I'm not fat, and I don't have extreme severe ance. But I don't have a flat tummy, or a clear face. Well yes, I have to exercise no matter what to lose weight, and I will always have to wash my face.... but it would be a lot easier to deal with both of these problems at once, right? Both of these problems are linked to nutrition and hormones. Over this past year, I've collected a bunch of information and tips. Acai berry vitamins, fish oils, multivitamins for teens, and WATER, oh and being cold! Weird huh? Well I think it's worth a shot right? This will take a week... and being inpatient hasn't worked for me for two years! So here's my plan!

Rules:
1. Drink a minimum of 60 oz. of water per day!
2. Exersice at least 45 mins a night (just walking around the mall counts!) to speed up your metabolism. Everyday of the week, we're kids, that's what we should do anyway!
3. Fast-Food = Fast calories, and zits... look up how many calories & and fat are in a big mac, you'll see what I mean! So choose something on the menu that isn't greasy or fried.
4. No soda, sorry... but It's horrible for you. drink 100% juice instead if you're craving a sweet drink, that way you settle your craving, and get a full serving of fruit! Besides, pop was proven to actually make you thirstier!
5. Use the food pyramid to plan your meals, it's the only thing that works really!
6. Junk food is Okay!(not really a rule but..)... IN MODERATION. 200 calories of cheetos a day is fine!
7. Don't take pills for acne or weight loss, because weight loss pills can make you breakout, and acne pills can cause weight gain, and both can cause depression!
8. Natural is always best. Choose carrots over chips, and choose a honey/ oatmeal mask over benzoyl peroxide (GAVE ME TEMPERARY WRINKLES).
9. Be happy. If you're feeling sorry for yourself and being sad sitting on the couch hating life, why don't you get up and dance? It send endorphines to your brain(makes you feel great!), and burns calories! WOW!
10. Don't do it in vane, do it for health!

IMPORTANT MUSTS:
1. Fish oils, omega 3,6,9!
2. Multi vitamin, (teen ones).
3. Wash face with mild soap twice daily (such as cetaphil).
4. Moisturize! Believe it or not moisturizing actually helps get rid of acne! (oil-free moisturized, again I suggest ctaphil products!)
5. Never eats UNDER 1500 calories a day.... starving actually leads to weight gain, weird right?
6. Get a buddy, someone to talk to about exersices and acne progress, and just for motivation!
7. Never skip out on fruits and veggies and whole grains! =]
8. Fiber tablets are great, there flavored and chewable, and help your body with digestion and much more!
GOOD LUCK!!! =]
OOPS I didn't realize I put it in pregnancy and parenting.... I'm fourteen not a parent. =]
This isn't really a question, I just could never find anything on YA, so I decided to put everything I've learned together for all my fellow teens.

If I use a Acne Spot Treatment, should I use a acne face wash or just a regular cleanser?

If I were to use the Clean and Clear Spot Treatment Gel, should I use a regular cleanser like Cetaphil or Biore? Or should I use an acne cleanser like Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash in Pink Grapefruit. I don't have serious acne, just pimples here and there.
