How can I tell my mother I am depressed?
I have taken multiple online tests, and many say I am depressed. I have friends that are depressed, and they think I am too. I have self injured before, and have been suicidal. I need to know how to tell my mom this. I want to know that I have depression for sure, and if I do then I need help. I also believe I might be bipolar, as I have all the symptoms of that also. How can I tell my mother this?
How do you know when a religious "pull" is really mental illness?
I am Bipolar, and have been an atheist for years. Recently I've felt drawn to Christianity, which has caused a lot of inner turmoil because IMO Christianity doesn't make sense. How can a person tell if religious feelings are "normal" or manifestations of a mental illness? I can't trust my own judgment; I once thought it was a really good idea to live in my car.

How to manage my mood swings without medication?
I have random mood swings, and depression/bipolar run in my family. I go suddenly from normal or "up" to way down and nothing really triggers it. I don't know if anyone else notices but I certainly feel it coming and exactly how it affects me. How can I manage this and not let it affect my actual productivity?
How do they test you for a mental disorder?
Well I've been pretty messed up for 5ish years and I think its probably a mental disorder. I was reading about bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and a few others and all their symptoms seem like what I have going on. I'm thinking of going to the doctors but I want to know how they check you for it. Do they just ask you questions or is there some kind of test or something else?
How often are people diagnosed bipolar1 and find out later they are actually schizophrenic?
Im diagnosed bipolar 1 with psychotic features or possibly schizoaffective disorder. Im wondering how often people are wrongly diagnosed bipolar when in fact they find out later they are schizophrenic? Personal experiences and insight appreciated,thanks.
