Has anyone ever tried witch hazel and aspirin as an acne remedy?
So I am in dire need of a fast fast fast acne remedy! Although my skin is starting to clear up from a horrible breakout (specifically around my jaw) its just not fast enough. I have used Burt's Bees Acne Spot Treatment for a while which worked wonders... but only for a couple of months. I would stay home all day applying the spot treatment every 2 or 3 hours and the next day, no more pimples! But now I am in love with Noxzema's adult acne skincare line but I have been skipping out quite a bit. And it doesn't help that I sometimes have to run on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day. But anyways, my question is... Has anyone ever tried using a witch hazel astringent then applied the crushed aspirin as a spot treatment? I have heard amazing things about both and at this point, I am willing to try just about anything. I need honest, informative suggestions and answers. Please no nasty bias remarks! Thanks. :)
Anyway to get rid of this bad acne? Help!?
Ok, well I'm 13 and I have acne on my face, back, chest, and upper arms and it's really getting to me. I go to a cosmetologist where she takes out blackheads and ready zits but more zits just keep popping up. I use special organic cremes that she gives me and also Retin-A creme my doctor prescribed me. What I'm also worried about is that my mom has adult acne (mostly blackheads) which never went away even though she went to a cosmetologist when she was younger as well and my cosmetologist says that not all my zits are hormonal ones. I also break out more around the time of my period. Will this ever go away?
What over the counter cleanser helps with adult acne?
Alright, my husband used to see a dermatologist for his adult acne. Since he joined the military, the Army dermatologists have totally messed up his skin. They took him off of the antibiotics that were working and put him on something else. It totally irritated his skin and so he stopped treatment altogether. Does anyone out there know of a good over the counter cleanser and/or acne kit that works on this kind of acne?
He has a lot of under the skin acne though. I dont think a scrub alone is going to work such as St Ives. Also, he has very dry skin.
Can you be allergic to someone & breakout because of it?
I feel silly asking, but am convinced I am allergic to my boyfriend. I am 34 and never had acne as a teenager. Neither has anyone else in my family, including close cousins. No one has had adult acne either. The acne started a month or so before I moved in with him. During this time I spent Fri nights - Mon mornings at his house. I attributed this acne to the stress caused me by my perverted supervisor. When I moved into my boyfriend's house the acne got even worse. This I blamed on not immediately finding a job. Then when I did and it continued, I blamed it on the mold in the house. It was an older house from 40's and had lots of mold in the basement. There ended up being a large leak from a hole in the roof that ended up breaking through the kitchen ceiling with lots of black flakes. At this time I had breakouts ALL OVER MY BODY! I was devastated. Didn't even want to go out of the house. We got it repaired and the acne got a lot better, but I still had breakouts all the time. A few times I had even woken up with purple/red ?chemical? burns on my face. Once was on my left cheek, the other times were on my eyelids. They would be hot to the touch and filled with fluid. I was only using something like Clearasil/Neutrogena scrubs when these appeared. No lotions or anything else. Since the acne started, I have cut out foods, soaps, fabrics, etc., been trying all kinds of over the counter acne treatments. Nothing would work. Tried Proactive, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, lactic acid, glycolic acid, AHAs.....sigh....Looking back (been putting up with for too many years) the only times my face has cleared is when I was on vacation away from the house, sometimes with boyfriend, sometimes without, and when my boyfriend left for 4 months training. My skin was pretty much cleared up all the way. I was so happy! I had thought that the stuff I was using actually worked. Then I was happy to learn that we were moving to the desert, far from mold. Moved here right after my boyfriend graduated and the breakouts started all over again! I am a freelancer and currently saving to go see a dermatologist so that's why that has taken so long. Yeay, dermatologist! I was just curious if being allergic to someone was possible before I give her my self diagnosis! Those burns though have me so freaked out....
Boyfriend and freelancing are not stressful. I love and enjoy both!
How can I get rid of & prevent adult acne? I've tried everything!?
For the past several months I've been getting really bad breakouts, like all over my face, neck and chest, Its gross. I dont know whats causing it, I havent had any hormonal changes..I've been on the same birth control(mirena) for almost 4 years and I'm not pregnant. I wash my face every morning and night, and I use only oil free lotion. I've tried using anti-acne products...salicylic acid makes it worse, benzoyle peroxide burns my skin...and my doctor prescribed somehting but it just makes my skin dry & itchy! (and it doent do anyhting for the acne) I dont get a period anymore bc of the mirena, but it seems to happen once a month. Anyone have any other ideas that I can try?
to the person who thinks i am going thru puberty...reread the question. i said adult acne. im 26.
How to get rid of adult acne on my chest?
I recently got on the Mirena IUD and have breakouts constantly on my chest (and my face). I'm 25, so the typical teenage products won't work b/c they will dry out my skin. Any advice for how to get rid of adult acne?
Am I doomed to have acne my entire life because of my genes?
my dad had it in his teens and is now acne free
my mom never had it as a teen and now she has severe adult acne at 35. it started when she turned 20
does this mean i'm going to have it my entire life?
it started when I was eleven and has only gotten worse throughout the years
don't recommend me anything because obviously this is something i've been struggling with for years, chances are, I've tried whatever you're going to recommend and it failed miserably
I just wanna know if according to my genes, i'm going to be stuck with a hideous face forever.
I have been going to a derm. for 2 years now. helped about 2% but my skin is still worse than 999999.9% of teenagers.
