What is the best face wash or pimple treatment out there?
I have never had acne problems or black head problems at all, but just 2 weeks ago i broke out bad and its not going away. I'm using neutrogena face wash and on the spot treatment but it hasn't helped. The only explanation i have is i switched my make up to mac but i stopped using it as well because i started to break out... I don't know what to do :(
acne treatment for teens?
My daughter wants to get some of the acne fighting treatments she's seen on TV. Only I don't know what works and what doesn't. My family has always had acne problems, even me still every month...you know when, but that's her problem too, just related to her period then her face is alright. I've seen worse, a lot worse, but she's pretty self conscience about it. I'm going out today and I'd like to know what works, so I don't waste my money (even though I already feel like I am)
How do I prevent acne? People are always making fun of it or pointing it out :(?
I have very severe acne problems and I don't know how to stop the breakouts. I wash my face twice a day, exfoliate and steam it weekly and the products I use have benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid because I heard those two are the best for curing acne. They do cure the acne, but as soon as my face is clear I get breakouts all over again. How do I prevent my face from breaking out?
I can't see a dermatologist because my parents wont take me, they dont have time and the waiting list is really long.
Is it normal for a 17 year old to still have severe acne breakouts? All my friends have already grown out of it except me :(
What kind of acne and skin regenerative method(s)/product(s) actually work? Advice welcome as well.?
I have VERY oily skin; my face would become shiny and oily within minutes after I wash/clean/wipe it. I used to wash my face like 5 times a day until a friend told me that washing my face too much can actually cause it to be more oily, so now I only wash it twice a day -- still oily.
I had severe acne during my early teenage years, which left behind a lot of dark spots and scars (including craters). I still have moderate-severe acne problems.
I've tried almost every commercial acne products & even some Chinese herbal remedies. Products that I've tried include: Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, Clearasil, Oxy, Noxema, Cetaphil, Lancome, Proactiv, St Ives, Biotherm, & even oral & topical antibiotics. None worked!
I mostly get those BIG & PAINFUL acne. It gives me a headache when I get them around my sinuses. I have lots of BLACKHEADS that can't be removed with those "strips." I'd put on gloves and squeeze them out & same with pop-able pimples.
I also have acne on my back and chest. =(
RE: Smiley
Thanks for your response and suggestion. I tried Proactiv and I think I was allergic because my face became swollen within minutes after use. I found that happens to some people, too. I tried it again years later because my cousin was using it (she had a few of those tiny itty-bitty blemishes) & the same thing happened. =(
Isn't Neosporin oily?
RE: Cory C
Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry that I forgot to mention that I do use a moisturizer. I use Olay beauty liquid. It's oil-free, hypoallergenic, and light-weight. I must agree, it does help reduce my skin's oiliness, BUT face would turn into an oiled pan after a few hours. I'm no lying.
RE: evening.mood
I was using this clay-like mask called J.B. Element from a Chinese company called JenBeauty; the company is located in California, but it's mostly operated by Chinese people. The mask helped reduce my acne, reduce oil production, whiten/lighten dark spots, and kind of speed up healing, BUT it's expensive (in my POV). It's really weird! After I wash off the mask, my skin actually feels a bit oily...but in a soothing way. Usually, I cannot put any oil on my skin, but that mask was just weird. I know very little about that mask and couldn't find out much because it was all Chinese, and most Chinese commercials gloat about their products. Not all products from this company work, but that mask sure worked for me. Not exactly a miracle but better than everything that I've tried.
RE: Irie79
Thank you for the very detailed advice. I asked my doctor about Accutane, but she said my acne was not severe enough to put me on it. My acne always gets better when I'm about to go see the doctor, but once I'm home I'd turn back into a zit bomb. I was using both birth control and antibiotics at the same time, but it didn't really help. Like, it helped, but it didn't "clear everything up." I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I'm not sure how that affects my acne or how it affects my doctor's decision when it comes to prescribing me medication. It's all so frustrating.
Acne treatment program?
I used to use Proactiv and it worked just fine, but after a while it didn't work as well. Now I'm trying to start this skinId program and I'm wondering has anybody tried both, and how do they feel about them? (It really sucks I have to use these again Its only because I have these pregnancy acne problems, i grew out of my acne issues already!)
How do i get rid of this SERIOUS acne problem?
I have acne, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and acne scars all over my face: forehead, nose, especially the temple area, cheeks (jaw sidelines) and chin. I have been using neutrogena washing foam, oxy pads and clean n clear creams. Nothing is working, i still grow more pimples and the existing ones takes a long time to go away, afterwards, it becomes a small crater-like scar.
I need a doctor's method of removing these serious acne problems (not by surgery or laser but by dry ice or something like that that freezes/heats the pimples off) and what medication would you prefer that you can buy from walmart/pharmacies?
and Would my acne craterlike scars be permeneant or are they removable by medication?
What is the best way to avoid & treat severe back (And chest) acne?
I have read up on facial acne issues, however my back acne is a less discussed topic and seems to be harder to look up.
Mostly my acne is on my back, although it also can cause problems on my neck and chest. On my back it's usually larger, more irritated acne while on my chest it is smaller, less noticeable (yet still visible) acne.
My question is, what is the best way to prevent and treat said acne, either by your experience or a more scientific view? Some even say food affects acne problems, but at every turn someone disagrees.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
what could be causing my chest acne?
Let me explain. I am 16, and i thought i was past the worst of puberty. i have to shave everyday, and all that great stuff. I have never really had major acne problems, my worst outbreak was maybe 7 pimples? and now, in the past 2 weeks, my chest and back has started breaking out like crazy. i do shower everyday, and i use some of that face, chest, and back stuff, but it doesn't clear it up, it only seems like its slowing the advance of the outbreak. So what could be causing this? i have had a slightly larger amount of stress lately, not not an astronomical amount. just normal teenage drama. nothing i've not had to put up with before... so. any ideas of the cause? and how to stop/cure it?

what is the best fragrance free moisturizing face wash for sensitive skin?
Hey there! I am 32 years old and I have very very dull, pale, tired looking skin that is also very dry. I have no acne problems or wrinkles but since my skin is so dry I want to prevent them. I do not go tanning and do not spend much time in the sun. Any heavily fragranced face washes give me a severe headache and cause my face to burn and itch. I am looking for a good face wash that will give me a healthy glow (not a red glow) and make my face toned and super smooth and alive! Also, is there a way to look a little less pale (I am ghostly white and look so tired) and what causes a very swollen puffy face, hands, and eyelids every morning? I have had this problem for about 2 years! Thank you very much and all recommendations are greatly appreciated! Take Care :)
