What drugstore products (that actually work) can you use for severe (nodular) acne?
So, I have pretty severe acne...after doing some research online I think it's called nodular acne. I get these huge, painful red bumps all over my nose and sometimes on my forehead. I also get some smaller acne on my cheeks and on the sides of my face, but that seems to clear up more easily. The big, painful acne is the problem. Right now I wash my face every morning and night, and I use one of those oil absorbing sheets after school. I also have tried a variety of different spot treatment creams and gels for the really bad spots, like my nose, and they get rid of the redness, but I still end up with these weird, embarrassing, hideous bumps that never go away. I've had some of them since 4th grade, and I'm in high school now! It's so irritating!
I really want to go to a dermatologist, by my family has no insurance, and my parents say we can't afford it. (My dad lost his job a while ago, so money is pretty tight.) So, are there any products that you can find at, like, Target or CVS or somewhere that are affordable and actually work for my kind of acne? And also, is there any way at all to get affordable help from a dermatologist if you're in a position like mine? Or is there any way to get prescription strength acne medication without going to a dermatologist?
pregnancy and acne; facial scrub ?
so Im about 13 weeks pregnant and I have a acne problem, I went to walgreens and bought their product of blackhead clearing scrub. [salicylic acid-acne medication]
gently exfoliates to life away dirt and oil.
is facial scrub bad to use during pregnancy or is it safe ?
Is it bad to have a skin care routine at 13?
I asked a question asking if i had a good skin care routine and a lot of people say that i shouldnt use all these chemicals on my skin or even care about my skin at 13.
I just use cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer and acne medication from the dermatologist for my back/chest acne.
it would be gross not to wash my face at all.
i also use spf 35 during the day
is that ok?
im looking for a good acne product either for my skin?
biore, neutrogena, clearasil, clean and clear, noxeme, oxy, proactiv and which acne medication would work best benzoyl peroxide or sasilyc acid
my skin has a few pimples few blackheads and occasional breakouts and i have dry/oily Skin sometimes
***Will I get rid of acne, or will my skin just get irritated?***?
I'm doing to do this when I wake up in the morning, and before I sleep:
-Wash face with Morning Burst from Clean&Clear (this has NO acne medication, it just controls shine and gets rid of make up, oil, and dirt without over-drying skin.)
-immediatley after washing face, put 10% bezoyl peroxide (spot treatment) on areas with acne.
*If it matters, I have "combo" skin, pimples on foreheads, and black heads on and near nose. *
Ya I've used pro activ, and i stopped cuz when the face wash got on my clothes, it bleached it and it wont come off.
JUST ANSWER MY QUESTION! DONT GIVE ME CRAP ABOUT A DERMATOLOGIST! I KNOW for a fact that there are people EVERYWHERE in the world who have got rid of ACNE WITHOUT seeing a dermatologist.
Going to dermatologist next week, best treatment plan for acne?
I've had acne since I was about 11 or 12 years old and now at 23, it's not much better. I've tried over the counter face washes, acne cream, moisturizers, etc. and none of them work. Sometimes my face will be almost clear for a few weeks, then I get 10 zits at once...mostly on my chin and cheeks. I get more around my time of the month, like a lot of women, but I get a new one almost every 1-2 days.
What type of acne medication do you suggest?
How do I get rid of bumps and red spots that are not acne?
I have these bumps on my face and chest (some red, some skin coloured) that are not acne. I tried to use acne medication on them, but that only made them worse. Someone told me they might be caused by dry skin so I tried putting lotion on them but no luck. I really need to get rid of them soon, so if anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know!!!
What order are you supposed to put makeup on? What color eyeliner should I use?
I am 19, but I'm not really one to wear much makeup. I have a special occasion to go to tomorrow though, and I want to cover up some problem areas so I don't look too terrible for pictures.
I figured I'd go through my normal skincare routine (washing the face, lotion, acne spot treatment) first, but what next? I have some concealer (with acne medication in it) to help cover those spots and I have some foundation, blush (which I don't like wearing), eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and under-eye concealer/brightener. What order do I use everything?
And as far as eyeliner. I got it as a gift. I have a greyish color and a more greenish (slightly blueish) color. My eyes are blue and the eyeshadow set and mascara I have are designed to bring out the color in my eyes (the eyeliner is not part of the same collection). Which color do you suggest I use?
Please help me with my teenage acne?
I am 15 years old and suffer from acne. My mom says its not bad, but i have the worst skin out of all my friends. I always cry and hate myself when i look in the mirror because of my acne!
I have tried wearing makeup, not wearing makeup, prescriptions, kits (acne free, neutrogena, proactiv etc.). I drink a lot of water and excersise. My mom works at a health food store so I eat LOTS (too many in my opinion) of veggies and fruits.
I ALWAYS take care of my skin. This meaning I wash my face morning and night with a cleanser, tone morning and night, moisturize morning and night, use spot treatments at night, and use a mild exfoliant every-other day. But whatever I do, my skin always has ACNE!!!!
My skin is oily, but can easily get dried out if I use a lot of acne medication on it. So I would say my skin is combination. Though acne is bad, my acne scars are worse!! I don't "pop" my pimples (instead I exfoliate and put spot medication on them, they usually pop by themselves). But I am left with red dots/discoloration all over my face. Powder wont cover them up so I usually have to wear concealer and foundation (I've tried not wearing makeup, but I still get acne so makeup isn't whats causing it).
I got prescriptions that kill the bacteria, and dry out my skin but NOTHING works!!! I'm so embarassed by my acne that I wont even let my best friends and my own PARENTS see me without my acne covered up.
I'm just a teenager who wants clear skin like my friends. I'm not asking to have PERFECT skin like models on tv or in magazines. I just want to be able to NOT wear makeup and still feel beautiful and confident.
If you have ANY suggestions on products, makeup, treatments, or just tips about curing acne please share! All answers are GREATLY appreciated. thanks =]
acne medication breaking out skin?
I recently have been using Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub. It is a Saliglic Acid Acne Medication. I have noticed that my face turns a little pink after using it. I also noticed that my forehead has broken out. Well i have heard people said that after using acne medications (like Pro active and others) you break out because the product is drawing out the pores or something. And then the product will start working. Is this true? I have sensitive skin. So does should i stop using this blackhead clearing scrub from clean & clear?
