What should I do to prevent acne and heal redness and blemishes on my face?
I used to used Ziana to help heal and prevent my acne and blemishes. I went off of it when i ran out and was able to wash my face with a gentle cleanser (cerave) and used cetaphil as a moisturizer which worked really well. Recently I have been breaking out like crazy on my forhead and I can't prevent it. I also have a bunch of nasty blemishes too that won't heal. What should I do in terms of washing and what moisturizer can I use to heal my skin and get rid of redness. I have very sensitive skin.

You are doing right by washing your face with a gentle cleanser, keep doing that morning and before you go to bed.
At night, after washing your face, apply a serum or a gel that contains Salicylic Acid, which treats acne and exfoliates skin. An excellent one is Neutrogena 3-in-1 Acne Stress Control Hydrating Treatment. Apply this all over your face and not just area that has acne. It will reduce acne in a few weeks. Beware that if you are allergic to aspirin, you’ll be allergic to Salicylic Acid too because it is derived from it.
If there are some spots there that were not treated by the Neutrogena treatment, try using a gel/cream that has Benzoyl Peroxide in it; it kills acne bacteria. After the Neutrogena treatment is absorbed, apply this gel on existing acne and other areas where acne tends to appear. Good products that contain this ingredient are Oxy Acne Vanishing Treatment with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide or Clean and Clear Persa Gel. This can be drying depends on how your skin reacts to it, so if you do find it drying, use it every other night or few nights a week and use the Neutrogena one every night. Note that cleansers that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide are not that effective because the product gets washed away before it can work, and most of these cleansers are too harsh on skin.
Avoid products containing ingredients like alcohol, menthol, lemon and witch hazel. These ingredients cause inflammation and damage skin cells, making acne worse. Toners aren’t that necessary but if you like to use them, also make sure that they don’t contain those ingredients. An amazing toner for sensitive skin is The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner. Any moisturizers and makeup you use should be lightweight and oil-free.
Use sunscreen in the morning because this will keep your skin protected, healthier and able to defend itself against acne. Sun damage will make skin dull, will damage skin cells and will cause premature ageing. When you have sensitive skin it is better to use sunblocks that contain physical (or mineral) active sunblock ingredients as opposed to chemical ones. The physical ones are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-free Daily Face Protector SPF 25 will work perfectly for you.

Am a guy w ho takes care of my face. For a long time I’ve used skin care products my dermatologist prescribed me and even those commercial skin care products you’d see on tv ( proactiv solution).
They work actually but lately for some reasons I feel that they stopped doing what theyre suppose to do to my skin. My face was oily and started to have breakouts. That continued for 2 years and I just gave up. It was only when I started getting rid of some unnecessary stress in life and try to get enough sleep and eat right. That’s the time I noticed my skin started to look nice again. –I start going back to my old skin regimen ( prevention and maintenance ).
if you’ve tried everything but none of them work…try this. might work to you as well.

cetaphil is good :]. i use that.
honestly, you can use many products and they’ll work for a certain amount of time
the best thing you can do is go to a dermatologist so they can prescribe a gel or something thats set for YOUR skin, not other people’s opinions on products, but
if you want a product that reduces redness and will help your skin try neutrogenas oil free reducing redness scrub, its really good. it has aloe and chamomile in it its so relaxing and smells great and your face feels cool once you rinse it off i love it:] theres great reviews on it too.
