Should i just use a daily cleanser instead of acne creams?

I am 19 now with moderately severe acne since 16.

I have tried Proactive, Acnefree, Retin-A and various benzoyl peroxide treatments. They slightly work and my acne will return despite regular application. I am so frustrated.

I think that I've concluded that these treatments clog up my pores. And now I should resist using any treatments and stick with a simple daily cleanser in the day and morning.

Will this work? Any feedback?

  1. yea that stuff doesn’t work on anyone. whenever I would use anything I would get pimples. lol. I don’t even wash my face in the morning. just shower or splash some water in my face if i cant shower. I never get pimples.

  2. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to try it out. I would recommend any of the neutrogena foaming scrubs with salicylic acid, they gently clean your face without making it dry, and their oil free moisturizer with spf is good. Don’t over wash your face, morning and night should be sufficient along with moisturizing morning and night as well. If you get a pimple you can’t stand, try Mario Badescu drying lotion as an overnight spot treatment.

  3. 1) Rub lemon juice on the scar/marks. This will lighten the color. Apply the juice and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Wash off your face and then apply a sun block lotion.

    2) Make a paste of sandalwood powder, black gram powder and rose water. Apply it on the area and I possible leave it overnight. Wash it with cold water the next morning. If you find that it makes you skin too dry then add some milk into it.

If these tips did not work for you, do not lose heart you can still try some other tips. Good Luck
