Ok 3 sisters have been Diagnosed with Infantile MS and Fibromyalgia Shold I be tested? Can regular doctor test?

I have done our Genealogy and nobody in our family has had either of these diseases. I have found many other things but not these. My 2 older sisters one is a habitual liar and the other is a hypocondriact. So I never Know weather to believe them or not. The older sister could not tell the truth if she had to. She would do anything to get a little bit of attention. And the next to the oldest is one of those what ever you have she has either had or has worse. I have studied both diseases as I have 2 friends who DO really have them. And on medication. But my oldest sister told me that her dostor does not feel she needs any medication for hers. But she is supposed to be going into a electric wheelchair. I told her long as she can walk and get around giving up walking is her worst thing she could ever do.
I am in pain all the time. I have days where just trying to do my house work is next to impossible. But it is a very strange pain it is the tissue mot the joint I have had it about 9 or 10 years now. Frequent urination, go from constipation to diahrea for no reason. Smells and odors really bother me especially body odor, If the stress level is high then I am worse. It is like my hands and arms do not want to work. And my arms and legs tingle most the time. It is starting to effect my vision now. But I see non of this in either sister. I just get real tired of if I tell them either one how I feel then they have the same problem. Neither one of thenm have had any type of bone scans or MRI scans. I found out by a doctor 3 weeks ago my spine is twisting and I have over 30 bone spurs where my Vertabra are breaking apart. But they say nothing can be done for it. This is why I say what ever I have they have worse.

  1. there’s no tests that can determine weather you have fibromyalgia as i have the condition iv saw a rheumatolist and im on pregablin and paracetamol which taking regularly help the pain but ms is usually ruled out with a MRI scan which i have had but i don’t have ms i have to say my friend has ms and is confined to a wheelchair she is in agony and may have to go into a residential care home for young people but i think your sisters symptoms are in there head unless they have had scans and other tests to rule out ms and fibromyalgia then im sorry its in there head and should stop waisting doctors and specialists time im in agony with fibromyalgia and still look after my 4 year old daughter they need to get up and go and have a life

  2. Hi.Well, only your doctor can determine whether you have fibromyalgia or not. There aren’t any specific tests to diagnose this condition(fibromyalgia),but your doctor can do a series of physical assessments to determine if you have this condition or not. And,of course no MRI,or CT scans/X-Rays,can diagnose fibromyalgia. You should speak with your doctor about your concerns, and make sure that you mention your current symptoms. This will help determine your diagnoses of fibromyalgia,and/or any other medical conditions you may or may not have.I wouldn’t worry myself about what your sisters claim they have. This is something that they themselves must deal with, and possibly a psychiatrist may be more able to help them better than any M.D..
But,for now…the best thing that you can do..is care for yourself, and focus on your own physical and mental well being.I have a friend who claims to have fibromyalgia….I often see her walking with the assistance of a cane, but when she see’s no one looking…she for a miracle I guess, can walk fine without her cane. And,she also loves whatever attention she can get from anyone who offers it to her.I find her situation very sad…pathetic in a way.
Just make sure you focus on getting yourself well, and staying healthy and happy.I hope everything works out for you,and that your able to get your pain under control.Take care.

  3. Fibromyalgia can have many symptoms and some patients without treating this can cause multiple sclerosis. Long time suffering patients can have bone form. I was suffering CFIDS, Fibromyalgia 13 years and was hard time when I was partial paralyzed, but last 4 years I feel good, I find treatment http://www.cfids.info

  4. MS can’t be completely ruled out without a spinal tap–a mRI is a good screener–but has false negatives

the tenderpoint test confirms FMS–but it is subjective

if docs were competent–it would be accurate–but most docs are clueless and use it as a general label for pain

you definitely should be screened for MS–but should be seeing specialists as it sounds like something more is going on….

true fms is real—there is definitely something other than FMS going on and it would be impossible to tell the difference until you get a handle on whatever else is going on

your spine may be the key to your problem
