How to tell a teacher or parents about an eating disorder ?
Hey I'm 18.. Year 12 and I'm pretty sure I have a eating disorder. I really want to tell my parents and teachers. I want to be able to eat like a normal teenager and not have to obsessively count calories. I'm not convinced that I'm bad enough to ask for help. How could I tell my parents and teachers about the disorder ?

I was in year 8 when I developed my eating disorder so I went to the school nurse and told her what I had been doing so she rang my mum and my mum came up to the school and the nurse sat in the room with me and my mum so it would be easier for me to tell my mum, maybe you should tell your school nurse and ask her to be there when you tell your parents? It’s easier telling your parents when there is someone else in the room with you to explain more. I wish you all the best, eating disorders are not easy to get over, i’m still not fully over mine and that was 3-4 years ago.

The best thing to do is to just go right out and tell them. You should approach your parents and ask them to sit down and have a serious talk with them. Say something along the lines of, "I think I may have an eating disorder, and I really need help." Whatever you say, you need to say it FAST. Anorexia causes you to grow holes in your brain due to lack of nutrition and the proteins that you need to function properly. Bulimia can cause certain stomach cancers, along with certain side effects of anorexia. This is a serious problem, and needs to be addressed immediately. Your parents want the best for you, and your teachers the same.

Why tell your teachers you have an eating disorder? It’s none of their business, nor do they care. Don’t you know there are ways to eat all you want and lose weight without counting calories? Weight Watchers is one organization you can join, eat all you can stand, and LOSE weight. I know that’s true.

Then just tell them. say exactly what you said here to whoever you feel most comfortable telling, explain what you think your problem is and if they care about you, they’ll look into finding a way to help you eat normally.
