How to get rid of the pimple on my nose piercing?

I've had a terrible pimple on my nose piercing for about 2 weeks and it wont go away! I use a soft facial cleanser and have tried salt water soaks once or twice. My piercing is new so I cannot simply take it out. If I continue cleansing 2x daily with 1 salt water soak per day how long can I expect the pimple to last?

  1. I know if you take care of the pimple improperly as I did with mine, it can last months. What I did wrong was mess with it constantly, even with the best intentions. I tried applying all kinds of home solutions that had been suggested, but none really worked and the fact that I was bothering the bump to apply these things meant that I was prolonging the bump’s life by not letting it be.

My suggestion: Do not lay a finger within the vicinity of the bump, and if you must, do so only with clean hands. And when you’re in the shower, it’s not a bad idea to lean that side of your nose into the hot spray of water for a few seconds. That’s what ultimately helped my pimple go away without damaging the piercing or leaving a scar. A minor version of the first bump appeared a few months later, but having already learned my lesson, I left it alone and it went away within a few weeks.

I have the whole story of my bump problem here: http://piercing101.bravehost.com/nosebump.htm

    Good luck!

  2. I don’t know how long it will last, but it will go away it you don’t pick at it and keep cleaning it.
