How to get back onto your regular sleep schedule?

I'm 15 and not really doing much of anything this summer, but I do spend an awful lot of time on Youtube and I lose track of time after dark. Ever since I went to bed at 4 a few days ago, I keep sleeping in until after noon and I'm never tired enough to actually fall asleep before 4 the next night. How do I get back on track?

  1. i have the same problem, and still do so idk how reliable my answer is lol. but u can try doing one of three things. first u can just go to sleep early (like 10pm) and u probably wont fall asleep (i never do) but just lay there with your eyes closed, give your body some time to rest (it will be boring and restless). second u can try not going to sleep for 2 days (as in wake up after noon like u say youre doing and when 4am comes around dont go to sleep and stay awake the whole following day) u will be very very tired throughout the day, and might not be able to not go to sleep, but if u can handle that then go to sleep at like 8pm or 9pm that night u should wake up early the next day and be back on track. or the last option is too do this gradually, instead of going to sleep at 4, go to sleep at 3 and try to wake up at noon, then the next time go to sleep at 2 and wake up at 11, etc…untill u get back on track to where u go to sleep at about 10pm and wake up at 6am or 7am. all these methods have worked for me in the past, and whenever i do them i stay on track for while, the only reason it messes up again is cuz i usually decide to stay up late one night for whatever the reason. but it does work, just make sure that once youre on track, stay on track! hope that helps :)

  2. I’m 14 and I also spend alot of time on YouTube. To fix it

Set your alarm clock to 7:30 a.m

Stay up until 4 like normal

    Wake up at 7:30 a.m

Do normal everyday stuff during the day but do not fall asleep.

Then go to sleep at 10:00 p.m or another reasonable bedtime.

    Problem fixed

  3. Stay up late and force yourself to wake up early and stay awake all day then go to bed at your desired time. Do this a few days before school starts or when you start activities.
