How should I start lifting weights for TKD?

I'm a wimpy 15 year old girl taking taekwondo and I have no upper arm strength. Push-ups are very difficult and I often fail or collapse. What weights should I start with, and how do I 'rank up' in weights, so to speak? How should I go about lifting them, and how often!

Thanks,
Cydney

  1. Keep doing push-ups but do them with your upper body inclined, like this – http://0.tqn.com/d/exercise/1/0/D/d/pushupbeg2.jpg

As you get stronger you can lower your body. Stairs are great for this exercise. Eventually you’ll be able to do them on the floor.

  2. Start with 10 lbs until you o up the ranks.
