How much should my eight year old daughter weigh?
Well, She is 85 pounds and we take walks occasionally and shes telling me she hates it because all her friends are 45 and 55 pounds and stuff like that. Also, um well she is exactly 4 feet tall. She also has a giant stomach and well I wanted to know, how does she lose all that fat?

Well, her BMI is 25.9. A normal BMI level is between 18.5 and 24.9, so a good weight is between 62 lbs and 82 lbs. The most ideal weight is 79 lbs. You can use http://mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx. Enter information and submit it for tips and nutrient intake information. Use other links on the http://www.mypyramid.gov as well.

Well, according to a Body Mass Index calculator I found quickly online, it says her BMI is 25.9 which is an overweight BMI.
You might want to talk to her doctor about changing her diet or putting her on a better exercise program to get her to healthily drop some extra weight.

Ummm that’s a normal weight for an eight year old. It’s not a good idea to try to make her lose weight because she could lose alot of her vitamins, etc. that she needs. She will grow out of it.

You’re feeding her trash. No 8 year old gets that way on their own.
That stomach comes from being overloaded with food. Poor digestion can also make an extended belly.
She needs salads, natural juices & possibly some high fiber regiments to clean out her system.

First of all if the doctor is not concerned at this point, don’t push the issue. Second, everything about your body is controlled by genetics, so look back into the family (both sides) and see what everyone else is looking like.

All i can tell is that you can look up an BMI calculator (Body Mass Calculator) on the internet and look at the ideal weight for your daughters height and weight in particular. Weight shouldn’t be considered a problem before it is well over the BMI codex – and in an age of 8 there’s a lot of years to run it of. I’m not all that into feet and pounds, so i can’t really give you an example, but as a kid you gain weight, its perfectly normal, Just watch out as it can come out of hands.

It is not safe to get answers here because your daughter is growing. She needs certain amount of nutrition for healthy growth. Why don’t you go see doctors or health advisers? Read the following site.
