How many calories should I eat a day?

I recently recovered from anorexia, so I was wondering how many calories a day I would need to maintain my weight. I am 15 years old, 5' 4" and I now weigh 105lbs. I will be running 3 miles everyday for cross country season as far as exercise goes. I heard recovered anorectics need more calories to maintain than normal teens, but how much? I lost weight on 1800 calories with no exercise, but have no idea what to maintain on with excercise! Help!

  1. An average person should eat about 2100 to up to 3000. Under your circumstance you should eat about 2300-2400

  2. I’m much larger than you, as well as a male, but for you running 3 miles a day I would think about 3000 calories. Good calories also, don’t eat fatty foods or anything.

Try to eat about 5 times a day, smaller meals to keep your metabolism up also.

  3. If you’re doing cross country, you should porbably eat 2500 calories a day to maintain. But the treatment center I went to did exchanges which is probably better for a recovering anorexic (You’re never fully recovered. You may have less thoughts about it etc. but you never know when they can pop up again.)
    My maitnence plan was
Breakfast: 2 starches (bread, grain, cereal. etc)
2 protiens 9sausage, veggie sausage, eggs, yogurt etc.)
    1 fat (there’s 1 fat in peanut butter, 1 in 1% milk, 1 in soy milk… etc)
    1 milk
    1 fruit
Snack1: 2 starches (a bowl of kashi cereal, 2 bowls of cherrios without milk. 4 graham crackers etc.)

Lunch: 2oz of protien (or 2 protiens)
    1 milk
    1 fat
    1 fruit
    1 vegetable
    2 straches
    snack 2: 1 fruit
Dinner: 3 oz of protien (or 3 protiens)
    2 starches
    1 milk
    1 fat
    1 fruit
    1 veggie

    Good job on your recovery:)

  4. Well, it all depends on your activity and your current weight, normally a regular intake of between 1000 – 2500 is the norm, but it really depends on your activity level.
