Im on a diet, 5'5 140 pounds and i want to lose 20 pounds. So how many calories can I eat to keep my metabolism up and not turn it into starvation mode. And I want the very limit because its going to be hard for me to lose the weight because I am on bipolar medication. Thank you.

You need to have over 1000 calories, or your body will go into starvation mode.
This site says that the minimum for women should be 1200, and the minimum for men 1800:

120-200 calories a day before ur body panics and goes into starvation mode.
