How long will the itchy feeling last after I've shaved my pubic region?

I usually just trim my pubic hair with scissors, but thought I would try it with a razor for once, it felt okay once I done it, but then a few hours later it started to feel prickly and sharp and itchy. Shaved it on Sunday and it's still prickly and itchy, how much longer will I have to put up with this sensation for? How long does it usually take to grow back?

I'm 19 and male btw.

  1. apply some Neem oil, Coconut oil and/or Lavender to ease the itching.

    local stuff – witch hazel, aloe vera gel

  2. Please don’t shave it anymore. Real women want a man, not a 10 year old boy. Go back to scissors to tidy it up. Try some powder, in the meantime. You’ll be back to new in a couple of days.

  3. the first time shaving this region for me was the same.. I lasted for about a week, the skin you shaved is very sensitive, and so, It will react to it like this. Some people have less of a problem with it then others though.

    You should use some aftershave in that area too, not much, but enough to take care of your skin.

    After a few shaves in that area, the itching and prickly feeling will get less or even go away. But you can’t grow a bush and shave it off.. the skin will react to it again.

  4. The itching usually lasts about a week. I just use an electric trimmer instead of a razor.

  5. Every action has its consequences.
    A man does not shave his pubes; why do you want to look like a little boy?
    @Cynthia’s advice is best.
