How long does the genital herpes outbreak last without using any medications to get rid of them?

Ive had the first break out and thats when i went to the doctor and they gave me Valtrax and that stopped it from spreading. Now i have the breakout for the second time and i am on NO medication. How long should the outbreak last?

  1. i’ve never had herpes so i really don’t know anything about the outbreaks. but i’d definitely go to the doctor and get some medicine because i think that would be pretty horrible to just deal with.

  2. a long time omg u got herpes

  3. That depends on how healthy you are, as healthier as faster the healing will be.

  4. PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR.

  5. could last up to three months

  6. I’m not sure- it could continue on, but I would just go back to the doc and ask for more meds. My friend has it and says it hurts… why put yourself through that pain?

  7. If you’re asking how to get rid of the STD, there is no known cure.
As for the question, I hope somebody else might understand it because I cant really understand what you’re asking.

  8. It varies person to person…i’d say on average about 2 weeks. Could be longer :(

Try using some Tea Tree Oil as a spot treatment for the breakouts..don’t just pour it on, cause it will burn your sensitive naughty bits. For each spot, use a new q-tip and dab on. Also start taking L-Lysine vitamins everyday..it helps a lot with breakouts, not to mention it’s great for your skin and hair anyway!

I strongly recommend trying to get in with the Doctor to get some. Planned Parenthood also helps with treatment for herpes at a lesser fee.

    Good luck!

  9. Center For Disease Control herpes info page:

The sores usually start to heal after about 5 days. They generally disappear in 1 to 3 weeks. Sometimes they may last for as long as 6 weeks, especially when a woman also has a bacterial or yeast infection of the vagina. The sores rarely leave scars.
About half of herpes-infected people have repeat outbreaks of sores. These recurrences tend to be milder than the first bout of herpes and the sores heal more quickly.

  10. How Long the First Genital Herpes Outbreak Lasts:

The first herpes infection usually lasts for 2 to 3 weeks, but skin pain can last for 1 to 6 weeks. The blisters dry out and crust over. When the crusts fall off, the area is usually not contagious anymore. There is evidence that some people have low levels of virus present even when they do not have symptoms.

Good luck! Keep your chin up.

  11. anywhere from 1 day to two weeks they will get less sever over time. i do nto thin it is worth it to get themedicine, itis bad for your liver. much worse than the herpes itself! try to hang in therem you’ll make it.

  12. Every one who has herpes has different immune systems which is what plays a part with out breaks and healing. If your immune system is strong then it will only take a few days. Usually out breaks last about a week or 2 depending on how severe they are. Some people have had back to back out breaks meaning when one out break heals another one can start.
Valtrex is supposed to help HEAL out breaks as well as to help prevent spreading them. You can also use Lysine if you want to use some thing more natural to help the out breaks. Take the meds during the out breaks and the out break should last about a week to 10 days. Your out breaks will become less sever over time and meds can help make that process faster. Also you should boost your immune system with lots or Lysine, protein, vitamin Bs and other vitamins, even Omega fatty acids can help.
