How long does it take before a cavity can kill you?
I have a cavity in one tooth and my next appointment isn't until next month and i am not gonna tell my parents cause they will get angry and disappointed. it doesn't hurt yet i am aware that cavities can kill you. but i am UNAWARE about how long it takes for them to kill you. i don't wanna die and i want to live a long life. how long will it take before a cavity kills me?

a cavity in and of it self can’t kill you but if the cavity reaches the nerve of your tooth, the bacteria gets in to your blood supply and causes an infection and left untreated especially on an upper tooth, can kill you if the infection gets into your brain. I do not thing you have that severe of a problem. you should tell your parents now. if it is a cavity they will find out anyway and maybe they will want to get you in earlier than a month from now.

Cavities can’t kill you… That’s probably just something your parents told you to make you brush your teeth. Even if cavities could kill you, it would certainly not be in a month.

mmm , cavities never kill !!!! , cavities caused by adherence of bacteria on your enamel ( external layer of the tooth) , producing acids and thus carving into the tooth, this theory is demonstrated and most accepted… anyway you won’t feel pain at the moment because this layer is not innervated but when it comes more and more deeper till it reach the pulp cavity.. you will feel, what is the maximum can happen is losing the teeth nothing more… no life threat here don’t worry i’m a dental student
