How long can cancer be in your body before effecting it?
So im just wondering but what if someone had cancer but never found out from a doctor, how long until that person would die from it? Like how long can it lay dormant in ones body?
specifically lymphoma?

No one dies from lymphoma and does not know they have it.

some cancers are very slow growing and difficult to detect
they may be there for years
there is no definition of time for cancer growth

Depends on the type of cancer. Each type of cancer is a different disease and acts differently. You could have it for months, or even decades, before you noticed. Some kill you quickly, others slowly.
