How early can you get your baby tested for seasonal allergies?

When ragweed was high, my LO got an ear infection. The moment Cedar spiked she got a double ear infection. I hate seeing her suffer, but she's only 7 months. How soon can she be tested? Anyone experience similar?

  1. Its really hard to test infants. Firstly, she is still working off your immune system…and allergy is an immune system defect.
Secondly, the most common form of testing for pollen allergy is uncomfortable because it involves skin pricks and you just don’t want to put a baby through that.
When she is a bit older, they can perform a blood test that is called a RAST. It is still no fun for the kid because they must take a blood sample, but you might want to talk to your pediatrician about it.
