How does one overcome the habit of eating out of boredom?

I eat when I'm bored even if I'm not hungry, and I want to stop because my clothes are getting tight. >:(
How do I stop this habit that I've had since I was a kid?

  1. You’re not bored when you have something to do. Schedule yourself. Even if it’s "read a book" or "walk around the block" or "do research on metabolism"–just stay busy. No down time, no boredom, no eating for the sake of eating. Also, you need to take great care to make all meals wonderful and satisfying, so you won’t feel entitled to more.
    Best of luck.

  2. Every time you’re bored and hungry, work out. It stops the hunger almost instantly. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it works.

  3. What I do is just chew gum it gives me the feeling as if I am eating food but its only like 3 calories ha ha i hope this works for you!

  4. Not being bored…… Each a favorite show, go outside for a walk

  5. You need to find something to fill your time, it’s not about habit it’s about self-control. the best thing to do is eat little and often, you can eat about five small meals a day so if you must eat put of boredom then snack on low-cal things like apples or celery which have zero calories…
