How does a diaphragm (birth control) work?
I've always wondered how this method of birth control works...is it hormonal? What are the possible side effects or complications? How effective is it?

bascially, its like a cap. you put spemicide onto the cap (around a 2cm layer), this is to kill the sperm. you then place the cap up into your vagina and onto you opening of your cervix where like a ‘suction’ action will keep it in place. so then it should stop sperm getting in and also kill sperm that touches it. it is 92-96% effective and around 4-8 people in 100, will get pregnant from it. hope this helps
the only side effects known are that if you’re sensitive to latex, there it may cause some irritation. the latex type isnt suitable for people more suceptable to cystitis (uriniary trapt infection) but the silicone one is softer so is more suitable, though is less effective
