How do you use tea tree oil for toenail fungus?
I was told that tea tree oil was a great way to help toenail fungus so I got some but I realized that I don't know the best way to use it. Do I need to remove any toenail polish? How long should I use it? Any help would be great. Thanks!

have to disagree with other answer…..sorry!!! You do not mix it 50/50 with a carrier (a base oil) OR Lavender (another essential oil) This is mixing apples and oranges. If you only use Tea tree oil, which is a toenail fungus treatment of the first order, then do this. put 12 drops of tea tree oil into one ounce of base/carrier and jojoba is fine but so is non food grade safflower, sunflower, grape-seed or apricot. The essential oil cannot penetrate the dead toenail. Try to cut away as much of the dead nail as you can and try put a drop or two of the BLEND under and around the nail and cover with a band-aid twice a day. Or do a foot or toe soak, like 10 drops of the blend into warm water. I have sold this to several folks and it works fine.

Hi,
Apply a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil (Therapeutic Grade) to a swab and coat the nail completely with it everyday until it clears up. You’ll want to remove all polish before you do this. If you have sensitive skin, Tea Tree oil may cause irritation. If so, you can always mix it 50:50 with a carrier like Jojoba oil or another more gentle anti-fungal oil like Lavender before applying. Hope this helps.

Hi – I know tea tree oil is recommended for a lot of things, but I recommend you use a specific treatment for nail fungus. (Interestingly, a lot contain tea tree oil.)
You also need to make sure your toenails are very dry before you apply the oil/treatment and you should let is soak in and then apply a little more. Also you sould make sure to apply it as much underneath the nail as possible.

Good luck.
