How do you get/prevent crater acne scars or discoloration?
I know that acne that scars either leaves discoloation or a crater behind. Is there something that will determine which kind you'll end up with? How do I prevent either type?

See a doctor for some medicated cream and a diagnoses of your acne type.

you just have to make sure your treating the acne correctly :) so definitly go the doctor and they will help you! you can go on antibiotics to help control acne :)
also just dont pop or squeeze unless they have a head and even then use clean hands and a tissue and apply even pressure each side of the pimple.. if it doesnt pop leave it :) otherwise the pressure could cause damage like a scar.
you may find even though the acne was treated properly that youl end up with discolourating anyway, BUT this is ok because this WILL 100% fade on its own after time it wont be quick but it will fade. you can also help it along , ive done this and got rid of the few marks i had..
buy a babybrush ( a toothbrush for young children.. theyre softer) and just use it to exfoliate your skin BE GENTLE every night and they will fade over a few months :) also you can try coco butter, vitamin e capsules( rub the contents on the area) however these 2 may make the breakouts worse ONLY use these if your acne free.
Good luck just make sure you treat the acne properly and dont be embarrased ! soo many people have been there!
also i no its hard but dont try to cover up with makeup it will make things worse
