How do you clean your retainers?
I wear retainers, but I can't figure out how to clean them. I've tried soaking them in water and brushing them with toothpaste and they still are dirty and smell wierd.

There’s an over the counter powder that you can use. It’s like Efferdent but for retainers. My son & I both use it.
Good luck!

Use a denture cleaner. That’s what my son used. Just drop one tablet in a cup of water and they come out clean and smelling great.

Darlin, you can buy the products made especialy for retainers, BUT, if you wanna save a few bucks all you have to do is simply buy the store brand of the denture soak. Most chain drug stores and chain pharmacies have these and they cost alot less. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be happy! Most people don’t realize that the human mouth has so many germs and that colas, etc. can and do stain. This way you"ll be "kissable fresh!"
GOOD LUCK

Its not the same brush as the braces brush…
this is a difrent one…
you can go back to the orthodentist and ask for one!

your retainer should be placed in a cup and covered with good old white vinegar. Then, when you want/need to wear it just rinse it and insert. Also be sure to rinse it again before you put it back into the vinegar after wearing it.

Use a denture tablet cleaner. It’s found in the dental aisle. You fill up a cup with warm water and drop the tablet in. Then your retainers shortly. Mines take 15 mins to clean. Most are safe to soak all day. And safe for orthodontic appliances. Check the box. I use a brush and a little toothpaste to clean once a week. =)
