How do I take care of a cut on the middle of my bottom lip?

I have this cut down the middle of my bottom lip and it is really annoying me. Whenever I stretch my lip or open my mouth to eat it starts bleeding. I have had chapped lips for a while. So how do I take care of it? Please help me!

  1. Try using Chapstick every night before you going to bed. This will help it heal faster. Also, try using a medicated petroleum-based jelly such as Vasoline since this will help provide a barrier between your cut and the air to make it easier and less painful to eat and stretch your lips. Finally, make sure to drink lots and lots of liquids to help replenish your body’s essential and needed water to help the cut heal as fast as possible! I hope this will help and I hope your cut gets better!

  2. First, you need to drink more water, and your body may be a bit too acidic – lips cracking is a sign of the body being out of balance. You need to eat more fresh fruits – vitamin A is beneficial, it acts on skin and mucous membranes, so cantaloupe, peaches, apples, apple juice, blueberries. Also, you need some B, C and E vitamins – so what would be best would be to get a multivitamin every day to improve your body’s nutrition. And to reduce the acidity, drink mineral water or drinking water with a couple of pinches of baking soda in the water – the baking soda (little yellow box) changes the water from being acidic to being more alkali. To start immediately, take a glass asap, with about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in the water, and get some on the cut – it may sting a bit but that’s okay – sip the drink during the day. And, stop drinking any soda or coffee for a few days, and especially any spicy foods – your body needs to calm down a bit. You can put some vegetable or canola oil on your lips for now.

  3. Apply vaseline.
