How do I prevent acne? People are always making fun of it or pointing it out :(?
I have very severe acne problems and I don't know how to stop the breakouts. I wash my face twice a day, exfoliate and steam it weekly and the products I use have benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid because I heard those two are the best for curing acne. They do cure the acne, but as soon as my face is clear I get breakouts all over again. How do I prevent my face from breaking out?
I can't see a dermatologist because my parents wont take me, they dont have time and the waiting list is really long.
Is it normal for a 17 year old to still have severe acne breakouts? All my friends have already grown out of it except me :(

Eat a healthy diet.
Get plenty of exercise, sunshine, and fresh air.
Drink LOTS of water.
Change your pillow case every other day, keep them clean.
Try to keep your hair off your face as much as possible.
Don’t touch your face.
Use a moisturizer.
Relax! Stress it only make it worse.
Healthy insides (most of the time) can lead to healthy skin and hair.

Yes, it is normal for a 17 year old to still have acne breakouts many people experience acne well into adulthood. I am 19 and have never really had to deal with this but some steps I take to prevent it include: frequently washing my hair, my face, exercising, eating plenty of vegetables ( which is really good for your skin), also, drink more water and you will see a huge improvement in your skin. Also don’t dry your face with a towel ( i never do ) use a cotton ball. These steps have been very helpful for me I hope they help you; good luck : )

ok this is my answer to a question someone just asked.. and she was talking about how she gets the kind of acne that starts under her skin kinda.. not just surface stuff. sounds like you have the same thing and i highly recommended this its what cleared my skin:
start taking Vitamin C ( take the 1000mg tablets everyday or every other day.. start out everyday i think)
it helps kill the bacteria that causes acne.
i actually use a prescription called minocycline that works very well with the kind of acne you’re talking about (not just like white heads on the surface, its coming from deep), but i also take these too to keep deep acne from happening.
i’m not going to lie, it may not clear up the acne you’re going to get in time, but it’ll help, and it’ll prevent future ones. this seriously works and i’m so glad i found it.
it may (small chance) make you break out again, but idk. it didnt for me. trust me its a good thing, though– it means its clearing out the junk from under your skin so you’ll have good skin from now on(: its worth it. i haven’t had a big pimple in a long time. and if i felt one coming i just took this and it stopped it.
so my prediction is that once you start taking this, like 2 or 3 weeks later your skin will be clear from deep acne and a little better on the surface too. it really works! like seriously get it at walmart.
it also keeps you from getting colds as much and stuff cuz it helps your immunities lol
try it it works! e mail me (steph_bball6@yahoo.com) in like 2 or 3 weeks to tell me how it worked. its awesome

Use Clearasil Ultra Daily face wash. I use it every day and it keeps my acne away. also, you may be irritating your skin by washing your face AND using those products. Also if you use lotion, it could contain oil which can cause acne. Clearasil Ultra Daily face wash is oil free and doesn’t dry your skin

Hi, so technically im not 17, buuut I am a teenager 15 aaand I think I know how to help you.
I wash my face with Neutrogena products like the Wave Duo.
Now I only wash my face with that twice a week, or once, I use the normal little washing pad for it (forgot what its called?)
I exfoliate Once a month with the exfoliating pads for the wave duo.
I wash my face twice a day, in the morning when i wake up right away, and in the night when im just about to go to sleep. I use • Oil-Free Redness Soothing Facial Wash from Neutrogena.
Those are 2 products I swear by.
When I finish washing my face I always moisturize with the neutrogena Oil free moisturizer for combination skin. That helps me alot 2.
You have to make sure that you NEVER STOP WASHING YOURE FACE.
If your skin gets cleared, no more acne, dont stop washing and taking care of youre face because i guaranty you, that you will break out.
If you ever get "pimples" do this little trick that i love to do and it works 100%.: Grab a pair of ice cubes straight out of the freezer, put it in a paper towel, or clean small towel. Place it on your pimple for 4-5 minuets (this will help it cool down) . After that take a tad of Neusporin, that cream for cuts and burns/infections, and dab some of that on your pimple. Keep putting a small amount of Neusporin on your pimple every NIGHT before u go to bed and after you wash your face, until it goes away. Max. days 3.
I know that this is alot of information but I hope that I helped!
I wish you biggest of luck! =D

Hello boy, I quite share your concern but the truth is that acne can be cured permanently. I was in your shoes before until I found an article that really help me in the cure of my acne. Below is extract of the article.
A lot of people think that medical acne treatments are enough for their acne cure but in reality, proper acne skin care matters much more and plays a vital role in every acne cure success. The first thing you should realize is to avoid oil based skin care products because these will clog up pores and will result in more acne breakouts. You should only choose water based make-ups, moisturizers, and other skin care products because these won’t cause any clogging of pores.
Another very important acne skin care is to avoid rubbing, pressing, picking, or squeezing of pimples because this will spread out the bacteria in other areas that will cause further pimple outbreaks. You can kill the bacteria on the surface of your skin by applying lemon juice that is diluted in water.
Applying tea tree oil and mint toothpaste as well as the juice of a raw papaya can help cure pimples because these natural ingredients will penetrate deep down inside the pores and dry out pimples fast. If you have an active acne outbreak, this acne skin care regimen will certainly eliminate them in no time.
In addition to proper acne skin care, you should also consider rethinking your daily diet. A diet that is high in fatty and oily foods will just disrupt your acne cure practice because these foods affect your glands to produce excessive oils thus leading to further acne outbreaks.
You should drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices because they will help in flushing out the toxins of your body. Vitamin A rich foods also help in rejuvenating your skin. You can find this essential vitamin in tomatoes, peaches, watermelons, squash, and carrots.
The acne cure stage doesn’t stop when the pimple outbreaks are gone since you still have to deal with the acne scars that resulted from it. You can use cucumber and other fruit and vegetable facial packs to cure your pimple scars. In addition, rubbing potato slices all over your face can also help in getting rid of blemishes and acne scars. This is one of the main secrets of acne skin care.
Even if you have found effective acne cure commercial products in the market, when you don’t have the proper acne skin care, your acne will just resurface on your skin. It is very important for us to know these acne skin care regimen to avoid acne from coming back. A lot of people are now enjoying acne free lives because they have perpetually followed every guideline on this article.
I have no iota of doubt that this article is going to help you a great deal. For the complete article, visit the link in the source below.
