How do I make myself like drinking water?

I hate drinking water and barely drink 2 or 3 glasses a day. I become very dehydrated often because of this. How do I make myself like drinking water?

  1. How to drink more water.
    1. Instead of thinking that you have to drink all that water, break it
into manageable chunks and drink a glass when you wake up, then a
glass before every meal and so on. By and by you will get used to it.
    2. Put it on your calendar. Indicate a time on your daily calendar on
when you have to drink a glass, and send sound alerts to yourself, so
    as not to forget it.
    3. Buy a bottle the size of your water goal, and keep it where you can
see it, so as not to forget to drink your water.
    4. Improve the taste. Add slices of lemon, lime and cucumber to your
water, to make it taste good. Do not overdo it, do not make water too
sour. A little slice would do.
    5. Whether you drink a tap water or bottled water, you might simply
not like the taste. Buy a water purifier to your tap, and change the
brand of bottle water that you drink. Due to the minerals, dissolved
in water, it may taste different. Once you find the taste you enjoy,
    it will be easier.
    6. Eat water rich food. Watermelon, cucumber are great sources of
    water and fiber.
    7. Move more. Physical activities make you crave water, because you
lose fluids when you sweat. It will be good for your overall health,
    too.
    8. Go easier on alcohol, because it dehydrates you and you will need
to drink more water to recover.
    9. Eat soups and drink teas, they are water, too!
    10. Buy a pretty glass or a cup to drink from, or maybe even several,
and create your own ritual (I drink from my owl cup in the morning,
and from my forget-me-not or a football team glass in the evening). It
    will make it more fun.

  2. Buy a water purifier and use lots of ice.

  3. I don’t think you have to.I am a teenager I never drink water and never dehydrated basically eat stuff that contains water more often.

  4. I had the same problem. Eventually I began to force myself to drink water, and by always having a glass of water beside me, I began to drink it unconsciously. If you really need to, go out and buy water flavor packs.
P.s. Water does have a flavor. People just tend not to notice it.

  5. Get tea or juice packets. I use the crystal light stuff because it’s really low calorie and uber tasty. (: Or just get flavored water; it’s like juice a little, but it’s clear with the yummy taste.

  6. you can put lemon slices in it or cucumber or even frozen chunks of watermelon. it gives it flavor which is probably why you don’t like to drink it. because it has none.

  7. Add a bit of lemon juice. You can also make iced tea with different herbal teas, as they provide flavor without adding calories. You can also buy 2 big bottles of water and set a goal to drink it all throughout the day. Soon enough it’ll be a habit and you won’t struggle with it anymore.
    Good luck!

  8. Well the easiest way to enjoy drinking water is to drink it…a lot. You will eventually become used to it. Always drink a glass at your meals, and if your staying still doing something keep a glass of water with you. As you drink it think of how refreshing it is and literally force good thoughts into your head. Also make sure you don’t drink too many other things. No pop or soda whatsoever. Also, try to limit juice to a glass a day. Eventually it will become habit, and when your thirsty you will want to get a glass of water. Also, if you really don’t like it at first, add lemon slices or other similar things to your water. Just do not become dependent on them.

  9. I agree with the person who said drink it a lot and you’ll become used to it. I used to HATE water, I’d only drink milk or juice. But I started drinking it, and I started off at about 2 water bottles a day, and eventually I just grew more accustomed to it. Now I don’t drink anything but water, and go through 5-6 bottles a day.

  10. The more physical activity you do the more you will like plain water. When the body is dehydrated nothing tastes better than a big glass of water. Take a very cold bottle of water and go hiking for a couple hours, or a jog for a few miles than that water should be tasting pretty good once you’re hot and sweaty.

I love my water cold, not ice cold, but colder than tap water. My mom and other people I have know like water at room temperature. Regardless of what temperature you like your water, drinking it straight and plain is the best way to go.

I use a 1 liter mug to drink water throughout the day and refill as needed. Since you don’t like water maybe try drinking a small glass as quick as possible every couple hours. Another thing to consider is if the water you’re drinking has any taste to it. Good clean drinking water should not have any taste whatsoever!! If you’re drinking tap water and don’t like it maybe try buying some bottled water and see if you like it better. I use a Pur water filter on my faucet cause than I don’t have wait for it be filtered like with a Brita pitcher. With my Pur filter the water has absolutely no taste and is very refreshing.
