How do I keep the back of my earring from cutting into my ear?

I got my ears repierced because the first time the backing was cutting into the back of my ear. Its happening again after 3 weeks but last time this happened because i put the backing on way too tight. The only thing I can think of is its from me sleeping on that side. What I need to know is how to keep this from happening and how to allow the back of my ear to heal properly without having to take out my earring until it heals or else they will close up.

  1. dont wear them this happened to me only the back of the earring went all the way in and it hurt to get it back out
i suggest not buying those small earrings
    try buying the bigger ones
theres ones that are for kids and some that are for adults
try asking the person at the jewelery store for ones that are the correct size

  2. its gonna sound silly; but I have used erasers, broken them off of pencils, and placed them in place of the backings. also; there are little plastic "spacer" like things you can get, often on french hook style earrings; might help. Just a thought
