How do I get help for my teenage son on drugs ? marijuanna has become a problem?
My son has just turned 16, he's a junior in High School by luck
and I think he smokes weed everyday his fingers are even burned
at the tips. We don't have the best insurance so how do I get him
help, we talk and talk and he does good for awhile maybe 3weeks
then he's right back where we started. I think he really does want to stop. HELP!

First of all your son is not on drugs, he is smoking and enjoying a plant that has been used for centuries both medically and recreationally. His fingers are most likely not burned but coated in resin, this often happens when you pack down a bowl during a smoking session. If his schooling is being affected than there is obviously a problem, if this is the case talk to him about his current habits and how he can balance his marijuana smoking and his class/home work. Create an incentive for him to do better in school, for example you could offer to let him smoke in his room if he can get all A’s and B’s. Smoking in the safety of your own home is better for both you and him because it allows you to know where he is, and it keeps him from smoking in public where he could be harassed and possibly detained by police officers. Be open to him being a marijuana smoker. If you talk to him on a level field you will most likely find that he has done a lot of research into marijuana and its pros and cons. Marijuana is a proven stress reliever and a great way to unwind from a long day. Contrary to popular belief Marijuana does not cause cancer or death of brain cells. Please read the text on this site and form your own opinions ( http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/ ). The government has strongly exaggerated the negative effects of marijuana, and continues to try to conceal the facts from public. The anti-marijuana campaign is an attempt to brainwash the public into submission. Notable marijuana users who have achieved a high level of success include: Willie Nelson, Einstein, Michael Phelps, Queen Elizabeth, Mark Emery, Abraham Lincoln, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, the band Pink Floyd, Bruce Lee, John F. Kennedy, Steve Jobs, Art Garfunkle, Johnny Cash, Pablo Picasso, Bill Murray, Oliver Stone, Elton John, Zach Braff, Jennifer Aniston, Bob Marley, Barack Obama, Janet Jackson, Oliver Stone, Britney Spears, Jack Nicholson and many many more. I have smoked marijuana with great results it has enriched my life and relieved my stress. I am a successful college student with a promising career ahead of me. My suggestion is to sit down with your son, smoke some cannabis with him and talk things out. Maybe it is not your son who should change but you. What do you mean he’s in high school "by luck"? Is him getting high messing up his school work? If so, then he has a problem and you should try to find out WHY he uses. If it’s because of a lack of friends, help him with his social skills. If he’s rebelling against you, don’t be so authoritarian. And so on.
If his grades are staying the same, he’s fine. Marijuana is pretty safe.

hire a tutor , put him in night school , if you think marijuana is that bad and makes you stupid , don’t knock it till you tried it , i agree with the marijuana adviser , it not the pot that is the problem its his priorities , if you really want to get an understanding of whats wrong smoke a bowl with him so he wont feel self conscious and lie or just say he will get better grades its bull its always bull , but i personally know several successful that have been everyday smokers since i was in 9th grade , that was 10 years ago and now 2 of them are bio chemists and the other is a lawyer so don’t blame the weed , but please consider it my mother smoked with me when i was in high school and since then shes not only been my mom shes been my best friend i would never lie to her

Burnt fingertips is a little odd. Smokers don’t usually burn their fingertips. Perhaps he’s handling roaches (leftover bits of joints), picking them apart and rerolling them, so his fingers are black from the ash. It’s what you do when you don’t have any marijuana – go to the ash tray and scrounge up enough to get a little buzz. Or scape the inside of the bowl of a pipe or bong to get some resin (also black), for the same reason.
If he’s high, he’ll likely have red eyes that appear glassy and partially closed and his eyelids will swell and appear thick (some people look more stoned than others). Perhaps you can confront him intervention-style (you and as many other people as you can find) and shame him if you encounter him in this state. He probably won’t have anything intelligent to say in his own defense.
