How can i tell my mom i want to start shaving my legs? When did you start?

I just turned 12, and im going into 7th grade. I'm a girl. I want to start shaving my legs but don't know how to tell my mom! It's kind of embarassing to talk about, you know? How can i bring it up? And when did you start shaving your legs & underarms?

  1. my mom forced me to when i was in sixth grade cuz i was afraid i would cut myself. what i would do is bring up the topic that one of your classmates has started to shave and that you were wondering if you were the right age to start shaving to. honestly i think you are plenty old enough and its not as embarrasing a conversation as you think it is. just tell her you feel like your ready and want the responsibility. she will understand and be ready to help you. make sure you pick a good razor and shaving cream and i would also recommend applying a nonscented lotion afterwards to prevent any razor burn. dont worry about talking to your mom. she’s probably thinking of a way to bring it up herself and may be relieved and open if you bring it up yourself, its a very mature thing to do. good luck!

  2. when you go to the store with your mom throw in some razors?

  3. well maybe you can say how all of your other friends are shaving their legs and maybe you should too. its really not embarrassing AT ALL, all girls do it. trust me, I’m in 9th grade and its notta big deal. Just, tell her, haha. say you want a razor to start shaving your legs, put it out there! Hope I helped :)

  4. This is MEN’S health you realize. If the hair on your legs is becoming really noticeable and bothersome then you should be able to discuss it with your mom. She had to go through the same discussion once with her mom do doubt. Usually at 12 years old the hair on your legs and underarms is very fine and not all that noticeable. So your wanting to start shaving your legs and underarms may be a bit premature. Talk it over with your mom. No need to be embarrassed. Don’t tell her you want to start shaving your legs. Ask her when she started to do so and what her thoughts on the matter are. Some parents actually like it when their children ask their advice. I don’t know what your relationship is with your mom but if it is like the majority of girls I see no reason you should be reluctant to talk to her. If she is the type you can’t really talk to then you will have to turn to another woman for advice. A nurse, a woman teacher you know and trust? Good luck.

  5. I’m sorry i have to say this but this is in males health.
Just go up to her and ask "Mom next time you go to the store could you get some razors "or an electric one
