How can I make my muscles look leaner?
I am a female and I am in good shape already but I am still looking to lose just a few pounds of fat to tone up and lower that body fat percentage. But sometimes I feel like my legs puff up and look fat just because they are so muscular. How do the celebrities get strong but lean muscles? I would like to be tall and thin, but I am only 5'4''
Thanks!

You have to eat a lot of protein.

To have a toned body, lift light weights, but for high repetitions. So for legs do like lunges with low weight, for about 20 reps or something. It should still be tiring. And remember to eat healthy, thats very very important in looking good.

Its partially genetics, but if you do prolonged, less intense workouts, like an hour of slow jogging, you should get lean muscles. High intensity workouts bulk you up. Also, whey protein supplements for women should help. Finally, stretch. It helps you grow too.

Many celebs get to be celebs bc they already have "the look" like models n actors, and as you know, many celebs have unhealthy life-styles.
A Woody Allen type isnt going to be chosen to star the Bourne series, or Raider’s Ark.
Many runners have thin legs.
To get muscular legs, many ppL do muscle-building, bulk-building exercises; or they’r muscular by genetics.
I assume you’r not doing that type of exercise.
Btw, body fat is very hard to measure accurately; the only reliable way is via underwater weighing.
When ppL look at you, they dont see a # of pounds, or a % of bod fat, so I wouldnt get too caught up in trying to meet those numerical goals.
What’s impt is bone density, aerobic capacity, blood pressure, lipids & sugar; strength, body composition, etc.

I would try yoga and Pilates. This is one of my favorite yoga routines: http://www.womenshealthmag.com/yoga/get-slim-yoga
I haven’t tried Pilates, but I have friends who swear by it (and have the long, lean bodies to prove it). Also, if you can, try to take one of those barre (ballet-style) classes. They’re based off of real ballet moves and routines, so those will definitely help lean you out.
