How can I exfoliate eczema without irritating or scratching my face?
It seems like no matter how often I moisturize, my skin seems flaky. And It's A LOT of flake. My skin is EXTREMELY sensitive due to the eczema, and I really don't want to irritate it and make it even more red than it already is. Anyone know how to exfoliate my face and neck without doing all of these negative things?

hey , i had the exact same problem ! my skin was so flaky and i was embarresed at school cause it was THAT gross. but now my skin is so smooth and clear, and im so happy :) what you need to do first is wash your face day and night with neostrata milk cleansar, then apply cream if your doctor gave you any and then apply neo strata all over. i have 2 kinds , one for day and night and at first it STUNG SO MUCH but my skin got used to it , and the dryness of my face from eczema is gone :) neostrata does wonders :))

You’re gonna need a stronger moisturizer. If you exfoliate, as you well know, it will leave red, angry patches where the skin came off. I use aquaphor on my son. It works fairly well, but you might want to pair it with a prescription from a dermatologist. And take allergy meds- that helps with excema as well.
If you HAVE to exfoliate, use gentle circular motions with a wet washcloth, then immediately moisturize afterwards, sealing in any water from the shower. If it is really really red, use cortisone cream. You may need steroids from a doctor.

Hi there, Guru!
You cannot possibly exfoliate your skin without irritating it. Exfoliation is not even a good daily habit for people with normal skin making it all the more inappropriate for someone like you who has eczema. I think it’s best that you try other moisturizers – especially those with vitamin E. As we all now, vitamin E is a "skin vitamin" which promotes skin health among others.
You may also want to consider taking vitamin E and vitamin C supplements. These two vitamins work hand in hand to improve your skin. Never exceed 400 IU of vitamin E intake daily though because this will be bad for your health.
In addition to using other moisturizers and taking vitamins C and E for supplementation, look into your diet as well. Have you been getting enough liquids? Do you eat too much salty food? Do you eat HEALTHY? Drink as much water as you can each day. Avoid caffeine (because this makes you pee more often), alcoholic beverages, and sweetened juices. Also, avoid salty food. Salty food drains the moisture from your skin. Try to do a complete diet make over.
I hope all of these will help you have better skin.
