How can a 14 year old prevent getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from typing?
I want to write a story (that is going to be a bit long) and my dad has Carpal Tunnel Syndrome because his job required a lot of using scissors. I don't want to write freehand so how can I prevent getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from long periods of typing. I'm also only 14 so is this also a factor? Serious answers please. Thank you =]

I really don’t think you’ll get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from that, well unless its a book and type non-stop.

When you do those repetitive things the muscles in your wrist tighten up as well and give you pains in your wrist and hands. Because these pains are similar to carpal tunnel they can get mixed up. For the tight muscles, which causes the nerves to be able to touch to cause the pains, you have to free them back up and that will take care of the pains in them. So if you get pains in your wrist make sure which ones they are first and here’s how you can do that, by freeing up the muscles in your wrist, if the pain goes it was them, if it stays it’s carpal tunnel:
Wrist:
With hand resting in front of you with the palm up, bend your wrist as far as you can.. Then press into the area behind the wrist, where they take your pulse, and hold a good amount of pressure on it. After 30 seconds slowly lower your wrist as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your wrist open for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
