  1. You are quite welcome, and thank you for sharing your story! You are helping countless others like yourself by doing just that.

  2. Ty for posting this, my son who has diabetes had a seizure on sunday due to low blood sugars. It was very scary and I had to call an ambulance for him. He had been drinking the night before.

  3. Seizures can be an interesting indicator of how your body is. I tend to get petit mals before I get ill.
I used to tease people that I could predict thunderstorms with my petit mals. One of these days I’m going to have to test my theory.

  4. last july i passed out and right after i had seizure, docs still don’t know why

  5. pre-diabetic?! is that an american thing?!

  6. It is good you inform the public about your experience. I am sure a lot of people would never know what could impact you ie setting off a seizure.

  7. petit mal

  8. i had this shit too when the ambulance came i was crazy as hell… the vodka fucked my brain up….
    fuckin epilepsy…

  9. Pre-diabetic is what some doctors tell you when you are technically Type 2 Diabetic, but not to the extent that you need medication. I can manage it with diet and exercise (I am fortunate that way).

  10. I have type 1 diabetes and basically what alcohol does is reduce your bllod sugar levels. Initially because beer contains sugars your elvels will rise initially but the morning after they will drop rapidly. I have heard of people feeling really disorientated as a result of this and some may not gain consciousness until their suagr levels are increased. You would norammly need medical assistance for this.

  11. blood sugar IS the main factor……but, rebound effect of alcohol and other depressants/sedatives/tranqs is after it wears off your brain will often overproduce the chemicals and electrical signals to make up for it. That’s why it happened AFTER the drinking was over. A hangover headache is partially caused by this, as well as dehydration/etc. Even if you had no diabetes, I would not drink again if I was you. If you have the propensity for seizures, depressants can lower the seizure threshold.

  12. it’s when u don’t need medication for diabetes, but your are very close to needing it. It might have something to do with how close to being high that the HbA1C is or soemthing.

  13. It reminded me of the one that was observed when I saw a former friend of mine that went into a diabetic seizure. It was when we were vacationing at a rented cabin near Kirkwood.

  14. ive had seizure!!!! I was at canadian tire getting a fuckin bike and i fell in the parkin lot and i seized and stuff. and then i was at my friends house playin stuff and then i like stopped responding and i had another one. ambulances are cool. really bumpy tho. and once i fainted in a swimmin pool and then i was a beener towl pile driving a one legged ginger emo native one legged midget. horrible horrible memorys. but yea it was pretty awsesome to say the least. diabetes is lots of needles

  15. I have pre-diabetes and I’m eating a healthy diet and exercising with my aunt everyday (I haven’t for a week since i’ve had a cold) but I’m going to get back out there today). I avoid all sugars including artificial. I’m taking Chinese herbs and acupuncture also. I’ve never had a sesiure but I’ve gotton very dizzy and faint before, one time it really worried me when I was walking down the side walk and everything was moving and I was having trouble walking.

  16. I never realised diabetes had such bad consequences until a girl in my science class had a fit last week.
At first we just thought she was bending down to pick something up from the floor, but she fell off the stool onto her head on the linoleum-covered concrete flooring. And our stools are really high! She then started having paroxysms and vomitted onto a boy’s jacket and bit her tongue so blood started pouring from her mouth.
One of the scariest things I have ever seen :/

  17. im going to school for my emt and recently discovered im a diabetic… i get angry and violent real fast if i dont keep on track and lose about 10 pounds in a month if i dont eat 6 meals a day…. not good:)

  18. Yes, these seizures are extremely frightening, one of my patients experienced a diabetic seizure tonight and it was awful.

  19. A scarry seizure is when youe full body seems to lock up and jerk you can see and hear people but you cand talk or move on your own!! then your brain slowly reboots itself….at times i was blind while this happened my full body shut down my husband said i wasnt breathing fo ra minute!! then i started breathing and then my basic motor functions came on so he was able to get me in the truck and to the er…it took another hour for me to be able to speak and know where i was!!

  20. try keeping a few of the peanut butter snack bars with you preferably south beach they are high protein low carb and low sugar!! my mom is diabetic and she always has a snack in he rpurse just in case and i keep snacks because my husban dis diabetic and im prediabetic1! prediabeties can be scarry too it you load up on carbs you crash really fast cause carbs burn faster than protein!! and you need to keep your weight low my mom isnt able too and hers has gone into overdrive!!

  21. sugar doesnt cause diabeties…if you need sweetners try honey or organic unrefined sugar or even date syrup!! they are all healthy the added benifit o fhoney is that it can help you get moveing in the morning and help to keep your cravings down i reccomend you havea spoon ful with 8 ounces of warm watter and a bit of lemon in the morning this will keep your food craveings down and help you keep the weight off!! also keep south beach bars with you they do help alot!!

  22. Are you type 1 diabetic? I have never been able to remember seizing, but I’ve always wondered if other diabetics could remember or were even conscious. I just wake up with frosting in my mouth, lol.

  23. im prediabetic and my seizures for some reason only effected the part that runs my muscles….drs dont know why so they try to say they are psuedoseizures! they are not but drs are too impatient to diagnose ailments! i even have an ekg that shows my brain wayyy off the normal marks during the flashing light series! anywhoi my mom and husband are type2 with meds my mom may soon be type1. its on both sides of my family so im bound to get it sometime in life if i dont loose the weight!

  24. What the fuck is pre diabetes?

  25. @Ladiestreat I think pre diabetes is pretty much type b however it can occour early in life
