acne treatment question…?
so, everytime I try a new acne product, like proactiv, exposed, and zenmed, my skin clears up and stays clear for about a year. then, my skin gets immune to that product and starts going back to breaking out. this always happens. What if....I don't use the same acne product consistently? What if I switch it up and use different products at different times? I'm just really getting irritated with my skin not being able to stick with a product that will always work. I'm trying to come up with something that will help this situation but wanted to know what you guys think? Should I try using different products?...maybe proactive in the morning, a SA wash at night, and exposed acne treatment the next day or 2 days? something like that? please give me your opinion. thanks!

Acne is a normal skin disorder which can be prevented, even at the earlier stages if taken seriously. People suffering from acne need to pay attention to some simple lifestyle changes. Acne can be prevented by taking care of your diet, your cleansing regime, paying attention to lack of vitamins and nutrients and the amount of water you drink.
All these seem to be very simple things, but how many of us pay attention to these small steps? Take for example, our diet. Diet plays a vital role in acne prevention and eating the wrong foods or junk food can quickly worsen the condition of acne. As far as acne prone skin is concerned, two major causes of acne are foods containing processed sugar and a lot of fat. These foods form a major part of today’s diet, and recent research has shown that acne is a major problem only in countries which consume a Western diet in large amounts.
At least 90% of Western people suffer from acne whereas people living in countries which follow a more natural, fiber rich diet full of fruits and vegetables are not troubled by acne at all.
Hygiene and our daily cleaning routine play a part as well. We apply so many kinds of chemicals on our skin, especially facial skin, in the name of cosmetics that our skin becomes saturated with these chemicals, and make-up residue and becomes susceptible to environmental pollutants. One must remember to keep skin clean, particularly before bed time so that the skin gets enough time to "breathe" freely and heal itself naturally.
Many of the cosmetics contain chemicals which produce oiliness of the skin or trigger acne. One must be careful before applying any new cosmetics on the acne-prone skin.
It is advised to people suffering from acne to minimize use of cosmetics, but if you have to use cosmetics and have acne-prone skin, always use oil-free cosmetics and those which carry the label of being non-comedogenic (non acne forming).
Likewise, it is better to use some simple medicated soap with warm water to cleanse the acne infected skin instead of face wash, which has lots of chemicals and perhaps some fragrance. Fragrance in cosmetics is known to increase the acne infection

I would go to your dermatologist. That’s what I did, and they can give you medicines and other topical gels that will clear your skin up. But your skin doesn’t become immune to the products; the bacteria that is causing the acne becomes immune. The bacteria is essentially growing stronger 0.o creepy right? But go to your dermatologist. Best thing I ever did for my skin :) It helped my brother and dad out as well! Good luck! I hope your skin heals nicely!

Hello there,
My best advice is DON’T mix it up! Your face needs routine and the skin needs to find a chemical balance, that is why it often takes about 6-8 weeks to see results when using a new system.
What I suggest is:
1.Get a Glycolic Acid 3-5% Cleanser- Use once in the AM, once in PM. (That is enough!)
2.Get a prescription for a topical. Do not use all these over-the-counter methods, they will only do you a quick fix. I recommend Clindsol. It is about $40 a tube and will last a few months. This is an antibiotic and will deal with the P-Acne bacteria that cause acne.
3. Get a prescription for an oral antibiotic such as Minocycline. This is pretty side effect free and works wonders! If you happen to be resistant to this there are a few others as well!
NOW: Treat your face as a whole. Forget individual pimples, we need to wage a war on your whole face, not that one spot! When you apply the Clindsol, do so liberally to the entire face, not just your bad spots.
Please, Please try this. I promise you will see better results then this garbage they sell at Wal-Mart!
Hope this helps!
Be well,
DD
