AVOID Holiday WEIGHT GAIN – 5 Tips For Fat Loss!
For more fat loss videos, check out my Bodybuilding Nutrition Video Playlist at: www.youtube.com Also make sure to Subscribe to my video channel at: www.youtube.com You can keep in touch with me on my blog: www.LeeHayward.com As well as on Facebook www.facebook.com My number 1 holiday fat loss tip for staying lean this holiday season is to stick to your diet and exercise program. Don't purposely give up and eat like a pig 7 days a week just because it's the holidays. For example, when halloween rolls around that's 1 day when you should have some candy in the house to give out to Trick Or Treaters. It doesn't mean that you stock up 3 weeks in advance and have a daily sample of all the different treats you've got. The same thing with Thanks Giving and Christmas. Those are days when we get together with family and friends to celebrate and indulge in a good home cooked meal along with some tasty home made desserts. It doesn't mean that you have to purposely pig out on sweets and desserts everyday for the weeks leading up to these holidays. My 2nd Holiday fat loss tip is to keep your home base clean. If you don't keep junk food in your house, then you can't eat it, simple as that. The idea of keeping a steady supply of cake, cookies, chips, etc. in the cupboards at all times just in case someone comes by for a visit is pure stupidity. If you have junk food in your house, you are going to eventually eat it. But by keeping only healthy foods such as lean protein, green veggies ...

@churde
Yeah, my arms and shoulders have always been stubborn muscle groups for me. But they’ve come a long way from my “spaghetti noodle arm days” :-)

I strive to do some form of cardio every single day, even if it’s just going for a walk. But I’d say a minimum of 3 days per week.

If you are ripped and have visible six pack abs right now then you probably don’t need to be super strict with your eating. But for folks with a “normal metabolism” they should follow these tips to prevent getting fat over the holidays.

A weekly cheat meal is fine. You can still use all these tips covered here to help ensure that those extra calories get shuttled towards muscle growth, rather then getting stored as bodyfat.

@BobbleHeadWobbler
For most people they eat as much as they want when they “cheat”. That’s the whole idea of a “cheat meal”. But be smart about it, don’t eat until you are ready to puke, stop when your belly is comfortably stuffed :-)

Yes, you can do moderate cardio during your time off from weight training. Cardio isn’t as stressful on the body as lifting weights. Things like walking are good for active recovery and will help you to feel better. I personally like to walk a lot for cardio, get outside take my dog for a walk, and get some fresh air, while burning some fat and calories.

Ideally you should keep your fat intake low after a workout. Fat slows digestion and right after training you want fast digestion of protein and carbs to aid with recovery and growth. But for your other meals during the day you can eat natural peanut butter in moderation. I personally like to eat natural peanut butter on celery.

@ybbolb
You should do at least 3 cardio workouts per week regardless if you are training for mass building or fat loss. Cardio will help improve your muscular endurance, speed up recovery, burn bodyfat, and make you feel a lot better in general which will aid with your weight training workouts.

These tips can apply for the holidays or year round for that matter. I’m sure you probably “cheat” on your diet on other days besides Thanks Giving :-)

Better late then never… Don’t forget we still have xmas, new years, super bowl party, etc. Besides that you can follow these tips for any cheat meal, it doesn’t have to be just a “holiday cheat meal”.

your body naturally gets heavier in winter season.., it’s on a body clock, it’s not because of the “cheat” meal holidays, like seriously if you can put 10 lbs on in 4 holiday meals, you’re a beast
November 29th, 2011 - 05:07
This is CRAZY. You have to do 3 days of diet control on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – JUST so you can have 1 friggin pizza on Thursday? As much as I admire the discipline to do this, certainly its better than me – it seems like a tough way to live? I personally feel when its time to enjoy life, then enjoy it! Let your mind stop worrying about having to run to the gym after every cookie you eat! Life’s too short for that!.. But hey, thats probably why Lee is champ, and I’m just internet guy!

Krispy kream donuts, i can eat the whole dozen so I steer away from that HOT sign. 45 lbs and counting. Jimmy Mims
November 29th, 2011 - 06:35
Some good tips. I put on a good few pounds last year and it took a month or more to shift them again. . .I reckon time off from work is a big factor as I wasn’t as active at home plus eating more. The upshot is I find it easier to gain strength when I’m better rested. Turning down food and drink at parties/visits is not easy! Fav ‘cheat food’: banoffi pie, apple-pie, ice-cream,chocolate, fries, burgers, pizza, beer, wine, spirits, coctails. Why is everything bad for your waistline so damn yummy?
November 29th, 2011 - 06:50
@Jimmymimsz I once ate a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and yeah i gained 45lb in six months goddamn it was a b***h to burn off. Stay away from those dude

November 29th, 2011 - 11:11
what i do… smaller carb portion control, eat until 2/3 full, stop eating around 5pm-6pm and then lean on sweet drinks like ice tea later , if you do the candy-sugar sweet meal that day eliminate a white flour-grain carb meal .

Can we please do away with the myth that all weight lifters are a bunch of assholes? They tend to be the nicest guys in the world because they aren’t so insecure. Thanks for the informative video.
