Blood Pressure Facts : How to Check Blood Pressure
Check blood pressure by fitting the cuff snug on the arm, placing the gauge where it can be seen, but is still in line with the brachial artery, and putting the stethoscope over the brachial artery, as well. Pump up the blood pressure cuff and listen for the first and last beats of the heart with instructions from a nurse in this free video on blood pressure.

The bell can’t pick up a pulse from where her thumb was positioned. You have to make sure you’re not using your thumb when taking a pulse. Her thumb wasn’t touching the diaphragm so she was fine.

Some of the most important details were not explained (how to recognize the 1.bloodflow, etc)
March 15th, 2010 - 11:58
This video is useless, no blood flow hints or advice, and first she is using her thumb on stethoscope which is incorrect because the thumb has its own pulse

this is horrible !

@girlsixdiva
No, it can. This is a stethoscope with double-head (whatever the proper english term). It is developped for adult and children measuring. Look: a big one (on the patient`s arm) and a little one where she has her finger on. This would take the baby`s values and can now take her’s.

@WundertGarNichtsMehr ok it appears many of you need to brush up on your stethoscope skills. Go to ehow and it will explain how to use a dual head stethoscope.

October 19th, 2010 - 11:33
@dumbfuckism
the thumb has a pulse (feeling) not a beat (noise) so it doesnt matter if u use ur thumb or not on the stethoscope just as long as u dont use ur thumb to palpate a pulse
October 30th, 2010 - 08:11
This is sooooooo wrong, she was not suppose to use her thumb to hold the stethoscope……..OMG

March 14th, 2011 - 18:05
first of all she doesnt know what shes doing your not suppose to use your thumb to hold the stethescope because you have a pulse in your thumb! you can be checking your own pulse! and you should increase the gauge till like 120.
April 29th, 2011 - 21:51
um their is one thing wrong in this video first when you are pumping the gauge my nursing teacher told us to pump too 140 then let a lil of air out lil at a time till you dont hear the pulse anymore.
May 15th, 2011 - 15:03
pump it up to what you THINK it might be???? Who is this women!
